Looky looky another turn based jrpg doing great.

ZeekQuattro405d ago

It's amazing that so many studies are shocked everytime a turn-based RPG sells well. Its almost as if theres a market for them or something. 😆

Square Enix: “I’m going to ignore that”

shinoff2183404d ago

Pretty much. Said the same thing on reddit and peoplenare killing me over it. I ain't wrong though.

VersusDMC404d ago

Of course they are...the article says they are impressed with 1 million shipped week 1. FFXVI shipped 3 million week 1.

If you're going to make this turn based games sell more argument at least use pokemon for it to make logical sense...

@versus FF is a much bigger name than Like a Dragon though. Of course it sold 3 million compared to 1. If FF had LADs miniscule budget, they'd be happy

jznrpg404d ago

I haven’t bought it yet. There’s been a flood of games and I have missed a couple games I wanted to play. I’ll get it sooner than later but I still don’t have time to play it

Outstanding game. 2nd best in the series for me

Ravenkiss404d ago

This game deserves even more praises and should be in my opinion the best JRPG of the year.

MrNinosan403d ago

If Rebirth and Dragons Dogma 2 wasn't released in the same year maybe.
I got the Platinum in both Infinite Wealth and FFVII Rebirth, and Infinite Wealth is absolutely amazing, but Rebirth is a masterpiece, a few steps above.

Ravenkiss403d ago

I'm pretty sure Rebirth is a great game. I'd get into Remake and Rebirth when the time comes, but after I'm done with LADIW Platinum, I'll go right away on Rise of the Ronin!

Best Lead Performance of 2024

VGChartz's Lee Mehr: "As game scripts expand in size and the technology to capture performances improves, blockbuster game companies are under tremendous pressure to get the right fit for a leading role. In some cases, said actor essentially becomes the face of that franchise; their mug may be digitally altered or cropped in select ways, but they're – more or less – in the same spot as a film actor at this point. As a result, there's also a keener interest in how those performers sound if they're replacing somebody else.

Perhaps the most glaring example of that was Bloober Team's Silent Hill 2 remake. Alongside a bevy of other gameplay & story alterations, Luke Roberts replacing Guy Cihi's original James Sunderland was a major point of distress for long-time fans before release. Sure, Cihi wasn't a trained actor at the time (and it shows), but he carried a type of unique charm that meshed perfectly with the game's strange world. A similar situation was Troy Baker assuming the mantle of Indiana Jones. How similar could he actually sound to a younger Harrison Ford? Judging by the collective staff & community acclaim, both of them fared quite well, and so too did the others who made up our final five."

WayTooManyGames' Top 20 Best Games of 2024

WTMG's Leo Faria: "We’re back at it. The moment you’ve been waiting for. The last twelve months were absolutely plastered with bangers, from all sizes, markets, development budgets, and genres. We’ve played VR games, Switch games, PC games, retro games, and so on. Every single niche had, at the very least, a title which managed to stand out. If our list featuring the worst games of 2024 was hard to create because there were barely any bad games to come out this year, this list was different. It was heartbreaking to see so many outstanding titles fail to make our final cut, just to show how many great games came out in 2024."

A top 10 list that doesn’t include FF rebirth, stella blade, helldivers, Wu Kong is already quite questionable… but a top 20 list and still not include them? Wow!

Yep all those games you listed are really good. I’d take out World of Warcraft dlc for sure.

I played and finished the game. It's a good time.

Playing WuKong right now and I would put it on this years list best games. I wouldn’t trick it at the top but towards the top. It’s pretty damn good. I’d kick off World of Warcraft as I hated it when it came out, a too easy version of Everquest with cartoony style.
