The boss catching bug needs to stay patched. If they want to allow people to catch bosses, they should make an official method for catching bosses (and scale their stats appropriately so that the game doesn't become too easy when using them)

Hilarious shadow dropping this during the Nintendo lawsuit.

Puty1d 10h ago

Man, it feels like Sony is late to the party with this.

PRIMORDUS1d 8h ago

Would love it if Sony actually helpled the devs fight Nintendo, and Nintendo loses and was humiliated.

Gamingsince198115h ago

If Nintendo wins this lawsuit it was by bribes and should be investigated, there is no way on earth any judge would give Nintendo the win based on the infringements they say palworld is doing, only someone paid off would agree with Nintendo in this situation.

This is what Nintendo fears. It will hit their Pokémon go community AND consoles. Change the ball system and move on.

To be honest. I think these two companies are working together. Their companies represent the same nation, so global money coming in is good for everyone.

My opinion it it's another BS lawsuit on Nintendo's part.

Vits5d ago

Well, the good news is that this shows Japanese Twitter users are just as dumb as Western ones. It’s not a copyright-based lawsuit; if it were, things wouldn’t be as dire and concerning as they are. Nintendo is suing them for patent infringement, which should be a huge red flag for anyone who enjoys gaming, as Nintendo holds numerous patents over game mechanics that could significantly impact the market if they start enforcing them.

Seriously, they hold patents for features like fast travel and summoning companions or creatures to help you battle enemies. That’s the level of nonsense we’re dealing with here. So even if you’re a huge Nintendo b*tch, if you care about gaming at all, you shouldn’t be happy - let alone support them in this situation.

FinalFantasyFanatic4d ago

I honestly hope this lawsuit just gets thrown out of court, having a patent on game mechanics just shouldn't be a thing, especially when those mechanics are present in many games. If this goes through, imagine the hell on earth we'd go through as everyone starts tossing lawsuits around like missiles.

northpaws4d ago

Sure, they are suing for patent, but it all started because pocketpair copy pokemon designs, otherwise Nintendo couldn't care less.

JunonZanon4d ago

Nintendo is only suing because Palworld has been massively sucessful.

NotoriousWhiz4d ago

Nintendo decided that the Palworld developers needed to be sued. Realized they had no case for copyright infringement so went into their bag of tricks (patents) to see what they could stick em with.

victorMaje3d ago

Totally agree.
Nobody should own gameplay mechanic patents.
If Nintendo wins it’ll open Pandora’s box. The ones who will truly lose will be gamers everywhere.

No offense to japanese but supporting nintendo here is dumb.

northpaws4d ago

I do think Nintendo needs to chill on some smaller projects, but in this case, it is a company purposely copying pokemon designs and promoting it as Pokemon with guns, then sell it for money and even try to sell merchandises (according to the articles), I don't think that is acceptable.

And sure, disagree with me, so you can act like you fight for the small guys and feel awesome or whatever.

Lionsguard4d ago

Oh look another one who just THINKS they know what the issue is without actually reading into what is actually happening. Maybe read and come back so you can actually be up to speed on what the lawsuit is even about.

porkChop4d ago

This lawsuit is really putting into perspective just how little people actually read the news. They just read headlines and fill in the rest with their own assumptions. This is why short form content is becoming so popular. People only have the mental capacity to digest bite sized pieces of information.

The_Blue4d ago

That's some simple minded logic

NotoriousWhiz4d ago

"it is a company purposely copying pokemon designs and promoting it as Pokemon with guns"

This entire statement is false.

OldDuffer4d ago

You appear to not know the difference between copyright or patent.
You might feel that ripping off pokeman is not ok, but they are legally in the clear on that which is why Nintendo are not able to take legal action under copyright law.
Trying to sue them based on patent law however is rediculous, you absolutely should never be allowed to patent game mechanics like nintendo have with things like 'fast travel' and i hope they make very little headway with this. If you care abiut the future of this business, you would acknowledge the difference and not be shilling for Nintendo.

northpaws3d ago (Edited 3d ago )

I fully aware that Nintendo is sueing them for patent law, not copyright. And I know Nintendo explored sueing them for copyright but couldn't build a strong case (according to some articles). But it all started because they copy pokemon designs, if those monsters looked nothing like pokemon, Nintendo wouldn't careless. It is not that I didn't read the article, it is you guys that naively think Nintendo cared about a game mechanic more than the image of the Pokemon franchise.

Anyways, I am not on Nintendo side, I am just discussing this one particular case. When they took down fan made projects, I was mad too, and they do love to sue a lot. Just I hate Palworld because I hate lazy devs that build on other people's success.

NotoriousWhiz3d ago

If they're so lazy, why does their game run better than scarlet/violet?
