Tears of the Kingdom makes Zelda prime for a reboot, resetting the timeline from scratch and allowing the series to have more freedom.
A selection of cutscenes from the game has been given a stunning Game Boy treatment alongside its iconic music, courtesy of YouTube channel, uh... 'it'. We get to see the opening sequence of the game in which Zelda and Link stumble across... something... alongside a look at some of its closing moments. So just be wary if you've yet to finish Tears of the Kingdom - this is pretty spoilerific.
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Last week Nintendo held this year's surprisingly packed not-E3 Direct; with a full schedule for this year and a vague promise of a console successor next year, it's very possible that we've now seen our final Nintendo Switch Direct, or at least one with major first party reveals. That makes this a good time to sit back and reflect on a generation of Direct moments, from the shocking and surprising, to the joyous and exhilarating - and, quite often, all at once."
Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom producer Eiji Aonuma and director Hidemaro Fujibayashi celebrate the first anniversary with special emssages.
Lore can stay the same and keep adding to, but not another game that plays like BoTW and Tears please. While it was god damn awesome, Tears wore out it’s welcome by the end. Need to do something else for the new one.
Yeah i think we are all done with BOTW style Zelda games, it was a fun ride. Even though i really liked it i didn't even finish TOTK, i've put in like 80 hours in it and i was done. I also think that a lot of that has to do with Switch's outdated hardware.. i'm so sick of it. Maybe if TOTK is available on Switch 2 in 1080p native and 60fps i'll replay it.
