I usually go for the highest difficulty available, but I'm not a fan of the idea of dynamic difficulty scaling. I don't mind feeling overpowered at times in an RPG and I'd rather feel the difficulty spikes when entering a new region for example. I certainly don't want the game to get easier if I die to a boss a couple of times in a row so I'll play it on Normal difficulty for my first playthrough.

it should not get easier if you die, but the game will probably suggest you to change the difficulty if youre dying and dying…
Dynamic is suppose to be so youre never really overpowered, if youre lv 50 enemies even first enemies are lv 50… the article itself mention its normal difficulty but with enemies scaling on your level, ala FF8

The ingame description seems more vague to me as it just says that it dynamically adjusts based on your skill level. Even if it just scales with the level of the character, I still want to feel stronger when leveling up and I want to feel the difficulty spikes of enemies as I'm progressing through the game. Seems like the dynamic setting would at least even things out a bit more, which is not what I'm looking for in my first playthrough.

I'll certainly experiment with that dynamic setting at some point, but I assume that the game was primarily balanced around the static difficulty settings. It's also gonna be more interesting to judge the dynamic setting after having played the normal one as a baseline.

For people who rush the game and skip side content, they will be underlevelled compared to suggested level. In those scenarios, Dynamic actually makes the games easier than the easy difficulty.

Oh yeah i certainly do not like dynamic difficulty, i read it has hard just like remake once you complete it but I think Hard would be almost impossible on a first play through, its best to play on normal and make yourself some rules, like no use of items … i still think that they should have make hard difficulty viable on first playthrough and then add a very hard one after completing game but oh well normal it is!

@nino
Square Enix mentioned that the game would always feel harder than normal that its for people who want a challenge harder than normal but idk it certainly could feel easier if you go super fast!

i mean, weve been joking about this for a while now haha

they're gonna resell this trilogy for the next 20 years ha

but i wonder ... remake and rebirth already had to cut back on the psr4and ps5.

hows that gonna go on that inferior system?

Steam deck runs it ok and the switch 2 is more powerful (docked]. Handheld mode will be the interesting one

No physical release GTFO. This game deserves to be in your collection, not some digital shit.

I can definitely see them offering a boxed collection of the entire trilogy after it’s completed. Or at least it would be a smart thing to do if Square wanted to bring in more money.
