PlayStation's HELLDIVERS 2 has passed the all-time peak concurrent player count of Xbox Game Studios' Halo Infinite on Steam.

Wow that's kinda insane considering what a massive ip is and before he'll divers 2 released basically no one knew what it was.

The success is massively well deserved, and I'm glad the word of mouth is spreading how much fu HD2 is.

Can't wait to see what they add to the game, 25 hrs in and still having a blast.

It's currently at 310k on Steam right now and is about to pass Palworlds concurrent count again today. Considering that it's the most played PS5 game right now it us probably the highest played game on non-Super Earth right now.

I also think that not gouging everyone on the price (£34.99 on steam right now) plays a big part. It's a great game with a reasonable price point... a bargain on launch.

That's a very reasonable price (even cheap), considering what most brand new games are going for on Steam at the moment, even older games from a couple of years ago or more are jacking up the price.

I’m still having issues with the game glitching on me. Now calling in different stratagems than what I put down.. and now I’m waiting for the quick play and it’s just continuing searching.:

I love the game, best co-op play I have experienced in a long long time. I just didn’t realize how many bugs I would run into in the first couple of weeks of playing..

Calling in different strategems is a gameplay effect called " scrambled". You can see what you fill throw before you throw it though.

When I push the arrow keys for a certain drop it has the arrow keys below it. I push the right directions and it will be a totally different item. Yes I caught on to seeing the item before I throw it. But this didn’t happen until today after the update .. I was just pointing out an issue.

Like I said I still love the game. Servers are full capacity and it’s not letting me play. It’s growing pains I know. Just positive objections

I think he's saying that devs did that deliberately to screw with you. It's one of their gamemaster interferences to alter play like make you wait twice the normal time for extraction. I could be wrong that hasn't happened to me

I'm against gaas, I rarely play online games since 10+ years back, and right now I should play through Prince of Persia, Granblue Fantasy and a few games from the backlog, but ever since Helldivers 2 released, I haven't played anything else. 70 hours and still love it.
Haven't had this fun in co-op since early days of WoW, FFXIV: ARR and first year with Destiny.

Games as a service is a game that is purely playable only as a service. The question is if the game wouldn't be playable if the servers shut down.

I'm exactly the same. Multi player died with me with couch co-op and split screen. The only game I've ever played online was Hell divers 1.

But I had this pre-ordered based on my love of the first game, the view switch and the incredible footage and previews that came out before the game released.

I was a little nervous they were no reviews and the bugs in the first week we're almost game breaking but I'm glad everything right about this game is shining through.

The gameplay is absolutely insane there is nothing else absolutely chaos

Disagree. Halo Infinite's playercount on Steam may be low now but it was massive at launch.

Halo just didn't maintain that playerbase because it had 5/6 maps and was barebones in general back then. And people lost patience with the extremely slow pace of updates for a GAAS game. They wasted a big opportunity because the core gameplay was good and the game is in a good state now.

Helldivers 2 hitting Infinite's initial peak is impressive, especially because Infinite is free-to-play.

The unsung hero of this I've seen rarely mentioned is the DS pad and how it relays everything back from laying down with the machine gun screaming get some or kill em all to launching the nuke and you feel the shock wave moving in
The games art is knowing when to run and when to stand a team member kneeling down and firing through the volumetric fog unloading never gets old
Solo ramp up the lvl and test yourself just get the main objectives done first when the mobs are low count and then fk around you still get mission complete when it goes tits up

This game is literally what Gears of War as a GAAS should have been and I find it so funny that this game from Sony came out of nowhere and is getting the recognition it deserves and Phil is pissed about it LMAO! 9 times out of 10 any game sony developed it turns into gold. Sony for me is singlehandedly keeping gaming alive with their top of the class exclusives. If it weren't for sony exclusives, the industry would be in another rut. Xbox cant make any games worth buying, and nintendo is still stuck in the 90's. Pc is just garbage, there's no pc game i want play

one for option capture
One for engine optimisation and technical
One for art
I forget the last one

They send these mobile teams out to any studio who needs extra help

As a Halo fan this is frustrating because they could have made a similar ODST game but they haven't done anything new with the Halo IP since Halo Wars smh
