Arrowhead Game Studios' CEO Johan Pilestedt has revealed that Helldivers 2 took 7 years and 11 months to make.
After being forced under the map with no way to escape, Helldivers 2 was an option added to force respawn so they can get back to action.
Arrowhead Game Studios writes: "Our community continues to show us how strong we all are when united against the mindless Automatons and the scourge of the Terminid. As we stand here, on the eve of the Escalation of Freedom, we reflect on the 6 months since launch. We could never have predicted how far this game would go and how many Citizens would answer Super Earth’s call to arms!"

Almost 8 years and only two factions and low variety of enemies?! Really, that’s my only gripe besides no jump button and only a few biomes. I’m enjoying the game and looking forward to the possibilities of all they can expand on. Well worth the money.
I don't care how long something takes to make...I care if I like the end product. I also don't judge based on team sizes. A game is either fun to me or it isn't. Team size and length of development is irrelevant.
