EA Sports is proposing a 10% revenue share for universities who agree to be in their College Football video game set to be released in July 2024. Schools who choose to participate will receive guaranteed payouts of between $10,000 and $100,000 per year.
Good idea but I expect the NCAA and college boards to swipe away all that money for themselves.
This means 2 things
1.Ultimate Team is Confirmed
2.They have some competition from another Studio
Bro, pay as much as you need to and don't be greedy, cuz I NEED my college football game back 🤣
It was the ONLY sports game I bought annually
Knowing EA they could easily ruin it
Hopefully they have navigated the NIL situation properly and there aren't going to be a bunch of teams or players missing. Unfortunately I fear that in the current landscape of NIL, certain schools or players may see this game as an opportunity for them to hold out and get a ton of extra money. Since the game would lose much of its appeal if it doesn't offer virtually all schools and players, you wouldn't even need to be a huge star/school to feel like you had leverage. Moreover, since it has been 12 years since the last NCAA football game came out, most of the players in school now won't have played these games growing up, so it's not like they'll have fond memories and want to be in the game for that reason. Many will do it for the exposure and because it will be the only NIL deal they get, but failure to address holdouts could sink this.
Be smart buy it used or wait for it to get dirt cheap. DON"T GIVE EA MONEY!😊
