This is a fun game. But remaking this is lazy. A cheap remaster while a new game is being developed would have had more value for the customer.

Yeah I here ya, I'm on the fence tbh as I think the haptics could be really cool but it seems a little early.
I guess it's to tie in with the movie release so makes sense somewhat.

I am very tired of all these remakes and remasters of games from recent years. If they're going to remake anything it should be a lot older.

If the Resistance trilogy on PS3 was being remade I would buy that day 1. Really hope the franchise returns along with Killzone

Socom 2 remake wouldn't be worth the effort. I don't know the exact number it finally sold, but from looking at articles from a few years after launch, it looks to have gotten in the ballpark of 3 million. It has been twenty years now so many of those people probably don't even play games anymore, and the people who play multiplayer games now would start whining about Socom about three weeks after launch about how "there isn't enough content" and "they just sent it out to die." Granted, it would probably develop a small but dedicated player base from the old crowd who want a stable, solid multiplayer game instead of a live service, but that isn't a lucrative proposition for Sony.

It was the same when millions of gamers asked for a sly remake then when the game came out it sold like 10,000 copies.
Sometimes we think we want the old games then in reality nobody ever buys it 😂🤣

They have to go back and change the lighting soon because certain scenes are too damn dark in the remaster.
The only reason this remaster exists is because they make a movie out of it, and they now have good excuse to port it to PC.

if its like 10 dollars for people who already own the original then I might bite. Its a good game and an easy Platinum but I honestly can't see myself buying this for 60 bucks brand new

Why is this being called a remake and not a remaster? If they plan on charging $70 then its not worth it. Unless you’ve never played one of these games, then I can see shelling that out.

Sorry but the original looks more creepy, that face with teeth out is more disturbing in the original, in the remake it looks like a drunk hobo.

I guess if they were planning to port it to the PC anyway, and with a movie to follow, I’d gladly play it again (but for £30, not a full £60 release) particularly if it brings in all the modern accessibility features and general quality improvements (the hold still minigame thing was an absolute pain).

It does look a lot better and if memory serves, the original was a pretty tortured development cycle and showed in a few places so a new engine would be good to get the most of detail in the darker sections, but The Quarry was also built on Unreal and had crazy amounts of pop up and stuttering so perhaps it’s just SuperMassive taking on a level of jank like Telltale always did.

Remaking games that still look and function nicely is a waste of resources imo.

Take the Crash Team Racing remake...it was awesome, completely fresh take on a classic.

Remaking TLoU or Until Dawn is pretty stupid.

There would be way more value doing Killzone, SOCOM, Motorstorm (despite studio closure) or Resistance Fall of Man.
