Features We Need for the Nintendo Switch 2

The Next Nintendo console is right around the corner. These are the most important features we think that's needed in the Nintendo Switch 2.

Knightofelemia529d ago

I don't mind the Switch not having trophies or achievements. What I do want is to party chat with a friend let alone message a friend. And drop that dumbass prison code to even add a friend.

Jin_Sakai529d ago

Agreed. Don’t care about achievements just give us messaging and party chat. And drop the dumb code as you stated.

Yup. The online stuff is where Nintendo really needs to get with the times. No phone app bs, native *cross-game* party chat and matchmaking through the console itself, actual social features like messaging and group chats, a proper online ID, WiFi 7 support, ethernet port built into the dock, etc.

I'd also like to see a cooling solution built into the dock itself so the console can run at full clock speeds in docked mode. The joycons need to have a slight "butt" to make them more comfortable to hold. Also, it's about time a console adds grip triggers. Consoles really need more buttons to push gameplay depth and possibilities.

They'll never have trophies/achievements as it would show how little Nintendo gamers finish the games imo. (Just like PS and Xbox)
It's like when I go down my trophies/achievement list I'm embarrassed at how little gamers actually play the games.
I'm guessing 90% of gamers rarely finish a game to the point WHY is gaming even there hobby 🤔
Nintendo wouldn't want that data on show for mario etc as it would look bad.

porkChop529d ago

The achievements don't necessarily have to show an unlocked percentage/rarity. They're just fun to collect when they're handled properly and make you think/play in different ways.

Si-Fly528d ago

You’re embarrassed that other people aren’t finishing games?

Welcome to N4G folks 🙈🤣

FernDiggidy528d ago

Prison code lol. I see you've done some time my fellow inmate.

FinalFantasyFanatic528d ago

This, I don't know how Nintendo can take a step forward and two steps back at the same time, why is it so hard to interact with my friends online over Switch? Everyone else has it worked out, and that was before the Switch released.

I don't need a revolution to be happy just a iterative update better specs and maybe some more robust is features and personally I'd like to see stronger parental controls like the ability to pin lock a profile and have games with specific ratings only available to designated accounts. Right now that seems to be impossible

Demetrius528d ago

Hopefully it runs 60fps or atleast a steady 40 fps cause there's been some dope pc handhelds that run 60fps with ease but that's if Nintendo wants it to

GoodGuy09528d ago

40fps I have enjoyed if the game is more graphically demanding. A good balance of smoothness, visuals, and battery life. I do hope that is a feature.

gold_drake528d ago

better battery
their own solution for trophies/achievements
better online everything ha.
party chat
better friendlist implementations

franwex528d ago

For me backwards compatibility would be great. Even if it’s only for digital games at least. Same as everyone else, better online compatibility.

The wiiu did have achievements, but it wasn’t forced like trophies or achievements. It was only if developers wanted to include them. They were called accomplishments. If gamers really wanted them I’m sure they would have been implemented by now.
