God of War Ragnarok: Valhalla delivers some juicy story and offers plenty of entertaining gameplay. It's a great excuse to jump back into the fray with videogame’s second favorite Spartan.

I flat out just don’t believe that…….you need a rouguelite to make you want to replay one of the best games of the generation? Riiiigghhht

Rainbowcookie520d ago

People just need any reason whatsoever to create a story ...4 the clicks

“ It's a great excuse to jump back into the fray with videogame’s second favorite Spartan.”

So you’re saying that the game Hades and its star character, never played it, are bigger more well known and liked than Kratos and the God of War series?

Armyofdarkness520d ago (Edited 520d ago )

He obviously means Kassandra, right?

Gamehard520d ago

I don't think the MC from Hades is a spartan though. Not 100% sure, but yeah I don't know of any other spartan game character that's more popular than Kratos.

Psychonaut85520d ago

Im guessing he’s speaking more broadly and is referring to Master Chief as the most popular “Spartan”

Abnor_Mal520d ago (Edited 520d ago )

That’s likely who it is, I don’t if Master Chief can be considered a “true” Spartan like Kratos lol.

Master Chief Spartan label is just a rank given in the Halo military, sorry not a Halo gamer so I have no clue what their army is called in the game.

But is Master Chief really more popular as a Spartan, interesting question.

well... its not quite what I was expecting but still nice they honor the spartan.

What an absolute half-hearted and shoddy way for Sony to commemorate the epic God of War series. A few alternative skins and the option to buy t-shirts or vinyl. It would have been better to not have any celebration. Abysmal.

No offense Sony… but nobody is playing God of war ragnarok in 2025…

andy8589d ago

Every month in 2025 God of War Ragnarok has had more steam users than Starfield.

Inverno89d ago

Bruv I'm pretty there are more people playing literally anything BUT Starfield.

Profchaos88d ago

Tbh I wouldn't be surprised if there was more people playing bubsy 3d than starfield

Profchaos88d ago

Yeah no one at all especially when it just became available to the millions of PS plus subscribers

PanicMechanic88d ago (Edited 88d ago )

Maybe it’s because I sold my Ps5 last year and built a new PC. But ragnarok I finished in 2022 when it released. Don’t have any motivation to replay.

Profchaos88d ago (Edited 88d ago )

It would have been nice to have a PS plus drop of the ps2 original though I get that

Cacabunga88d ago

I actually installed it again today to try the latest roguelite DLC. Costumes is a nice addition but def expected something else.

Killer2020UK88d ago

Mate, I only started playing the previous one. It holds up unbelievably well considering it was a PS4 release

Chard88d ago

Not everybody buys and plays games during the launch window

BISHOP-BRASIL88d ago

I just finished it last week. You don't speak for everyone.

Damn Sony
You keep on remastering recent games and yet choose not to for a franchise that's celebrating it's 20 years?
I'm sure a lot of old and new fans would appreciate being able to play the entire saga using their current gen consoles.

Shane Kim89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

Sure but that would require to actually remaster. Not selling the same game from last gen in a new box and call it remaster.

Profchaos88d ago

I admit I got a bit swept up in thinking we would get a PS classics drop of the first game on PS plus not a remaster or anything just running under the new ps2 emulator id be.halpy with that or the PSP games that deserve more praise really

Playstation writes: "Starting with tomorrow’s release of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 for PC, we’re working to add more benefits to playing with an account for PlayStation Network. An account for PlayStation Network will become optional for these titles on PC. Players who still opt to sign into a PlayStation Network account will also enjoy added benefits like trophies and friend management."
