13-Year-Old Becomes First Person to Ever Beat Tetris

34 years after its release on NES, Blue Scuti has become the first human to ever reach Tetris' Kill Screen.

phoenixwing115d ago

Kudos to that kid. Must be some kind of genius.

blackblades114d ago

Seen this on you tube the other day. They have tournaments and everything. The kid spends 3 to 5 hours a day playing.

phoenixwing114d ago

honestly that's not that extreme an amount for a kid to play video games considering they usually have that much free time growing up. and good on him for choosing a puzzle game to get enraptured by. could have done worse. plus he set a world record. not to bad. everyone knows what tetris is. so when he describes that he beat it nobody will be looking down on it much.

Rocketisleague114d ago

Wow...I'm 32 have a kid and a full time job and sometimes I spend 3 to 5 hours a day playing

Fist4achin114d ago

That's insane. I can't imagine how fast the blocks are dropping at that point. Kudos to this kid!

DaReapa114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

If I remember correctly, the drops reach peak speed at level 29. This kid got to level 157. That *IS* insane.

--Onilink--114d ago

No, they do still increase (not indefinitely though)

Previously level 29 was as high as anyone could go because they dropped so fast that it was impossible to get pieces to either side.

But a couple different techniques came out throughout the years that allowed players to go past that level easily.

The other issue that eventually came up besides the drop speed were the color palettes get really weird after level 100 and something, so there are a few levels where is really hard to see anything

DaReapa114d ago

@Onilink
Thanks for the clarification.

AndrewM114d ago (Edited 114d ago )

@--Onilink--
No, I just watched a vid covering whole thing, speed maxes at level 29, after that there are many many different glitches and visual problems, but the speed does not increase again.

Loktai114d ago

I really wish Jonas Neubauer were still here to see this.

WelkinCole114d ago

I am really happy for this kid. Dedication pays off. Hope he gets some monetary reward somewhewre.

Unknown_Gamer5794113d ago

I've seen this and all I can say is "holy ****!" I mean, congrats to the kid. That's quite an impressive milestone to achieve, let alone by someone as young as he is.

EKWB reportedly plagued with financial disarray many gaming pc's left without parts

EK Cooling allegedly has slipped itself into a hot soup of seemingly endless financial woes, where it has not paid its staff, suppliers, and contractors for many months as the company is facing liquidity problems and a surplus of inventory left unsold, stuck in the warehouse for a more extended period. Gamers Nexus investigated these claims made by former and current personnel, where he found trails of unpaid bills lasting as long as three to four months and unpaid raises that accumulated for almost a year.

EK Water Blocks has two entities—a Slovenian-based headquarters and a US-based subsidiary, EK Cooling Solutions. Steve narrated the series of events in detail, stating that the company was reportedly irresponsible and negligent regarding payment. Consequently, partners and employees are forced to share the burden of alleged mismanagement. It all begins with its extensive range of products, leading to a surplus of goods. EK has over 230 water blocks, 40 liquid cooling kits, 85 reservoirs, 40 pumps, 73 radiators, and 212 miscellaneous accessories.

Yes this is not about video games directly but indirectly this will impact the pc gaming/workstation space hard.

This company is massive one of two in the water cool space so if it goes poof then thousands out there have no spare parts or half built computers.

SO yeah i know not about a video game but think of it as amd leaving the pc space but this is ekwb that could be leaving water cooling in the pc space

Jayz2cents a supporter of there products also has issues

As someone that has built a watercooling rig. EK is big, but there's so many numerous watercooling part companies out there. EK's stuff isn't exactly amazing quality for the price compared to others either, it's just ok. Much like Corsair. The impact would be negligible long term. For perspective the majority of my parts are XSPC, at most I use EK for my gpu waterblocks and fittings. Both easily replaceable.
