If only these features were available at launch

Obscure_Observer555d ago

"If only these features were available at launch"

The same usual people would still complain, in fact the vast majority of people commenting in this very topic aren´t even playing the game.

Some people here never played the game, and yet, they´re here complaining or talking sh!t just for the heck of it.

For, Starfield fans, its amazing news that Bethesda will continue to deliver on more updates, fixes and quality of life improvements within the game for many years to come.

In a year from now, we´ll have a very different and far better Starfield with full mod support and future expansions and dlcs.

Great times ahead! :)

@Obcure
Why would people play a mediocre game? Why do you need to have played the game to have an opinion about it? Don't need to have played the game to see the glaring issues.

mkis007555d ago

So you need to play a game to know that it's good? So why do you keep saying how amazing these unreleased xbox games are?

Godmars290555d ago

What you're complaining about might have some weight, if not for most - if not all - Bethesda/Todd Howard titles releasing in sub-par states. Seeing updates patches and largely mods to improve them.

raWfodog555d ago (Edited 555d ago )

I don’t have to play the game to know it’s not what I’m looking for now. There’s already plenty of information regarding the game’s issues provided by actual players. I’ve alway said that the complete edition two years from now will be when I’ll become interested in seeing what it brings.

notachance555d ago

Just so you know, blind faith like you drove people away from xbox instead of attracting new fans.

darthv72555d ago

"So you need to play a game to know that it's good?"..... I mean It certainly doesn't hurt.

Many games may not look like they be fun and then you try it and find out for yourself. Sometimes they surprise you.

EvertonFC555d ago (Edited 555d ago )

Game was very good, but I think alot of gamers have moved on including myself.

jeromeface555d ago

just like the same MS defenders come running when the falter. Which has been for years btw.

Armyofdarkness555d ago

I’ve completed it and it’s mediocre at best. Skyrim is still better

lukasmain555d ago (Edited 555d ago )

"full mod support"

Well not all of them.

please stop. People aren't playing this game because it's so average at best.

In a year from now, we´ll have a very different and far better Starfield with full mod support and future expansions and dlcs.

everything wrong with gaming today. This game shouldn't have launched if all these things were missing. How about we don't defend this companies and demand better. Starfield is getting all the bad press because it was promised as the first new IP frok makers of ES, FO in 25 years yet all we got was FO in space

NMS a game with less than 25 people have a far better space game out and all updates are free. Bethesda should have looked at NMS and made improvements instead they released a unfinished game which now will be patched overtime

i am tired of cyberpunk, starfield and otehrs releasing the games that require years of future support just to deliver the orignal vision

ChasterMies555d ago

“For, Starfield fans, its amazing news”

I’ve been playing games for a long time and imma tell you that it’s never amazing news when a game you already played is getting better only after you are sick to death of playing it. It’s why I like to wait for game of the year editions and ultimate editions before buying into a game.

Obscure_Observer555d ago

@notachance

"Just so you know, blind faith like you drove people away from xbox instead of attracting new fans."

Don´t worry. Games will do the talking like it always have.

If you watched the TGA presentation, you know what´s coming for you and what is coming for us.

@neutralgamer1992

Dude, you lost me when you mentioned NMS.

And please, spare us both from some pathetic mental gymnastics. You can´t bend reality. Deal with the cold hard facts and take your complains to whatever person responsible for those metascores.

Have a nice day.

MrBaskerville555d ago (Edited 555d ago )

I played for 25 hours. Was dissapointed 2 hours in, but decided I would give it a shot and see if the game could win me over. I allready paid the 10 bucks to play, so had to make the best of it. Enjoyed it somewhat for a while, but got fed up after around 20 hours and dropped it after 25 realizing it probably would only get worse from there.

I usually like Bethesda rpgs, but this one has none of the positives from earlier games and invents new negatives while the usual downsides remain.

itsmebryan555d ago

@obcure
Have you played the game? I'm not really a RPG person but, I'm amazed by the scoop of the game and the many different ways you can play. At first it can be overwhelming all the things you can do. Once you realize there is really not a right way to play. Just play it really excels. It's far ahead of no man's sky at this point after launch.

To call it mediocre is a dramatic overstatement. Starfield won as many awards as Spiderman 2 at the show so it can't be that bad.

Armaggedon555d ago

@isarai
People play mediocre games all the time. Just look at some of the GOTY contenders.🤣

babadivad555d ago

@isarai

"Why would people play a mediocre game?"

They played Spider-Man 2.

Your opinion on a game isn't valid if you haven't played it. It's just hearsay.

It is as comical as this reviewer slamming Elden Ring when he hadn't even played the game.

Games can't add features without people saying "it should have been there at launch" anymore? 😂

lucian229555d ago

When the game has been in development for over 10 years, had a huge team and still lacks some normal features and is full of nothingness and empty planets, while a single guy in his basement can make a mod to fix those issues in a week without any pay.... Yeah maybe you can see the issue

-Foxtrot555d ago

If the game is lacking, missing obvious quality of life features, feels empty and so on only to get these things so soon after launch then yeah…it should have been at launch

Witcher 3 I could have added free updates and it would be justified as the main game is huge and well done already

itsmebryan555d ago

@Zeref
Exactly. Funny I don't hear them complain about GT7 launch and all the updates. They said how great it is that they continue to support their games. Smh

Neonridr555d ago

it's like another game that had a rocky start and is now universally praised after countless updates.

No Man's Sky.

Christopher556d ago

How about more filled procedurally generated planet scapes and way more dungeon options on those planets?

Jin_Sakai556d ago

Now that’s just asking to much. This is Bethesda we’re talking about.

-Foxtrot555d ago

“Meh.The mods will do it”

aconnellan555d ago

For sure - these updates would be nice to have, but they just make it easier to get to the same repeated POIs and locations, it doesn’t really change the issue at the core of the game

porkChop555d ago

It's possible and would be welcomed. I believe both Minecraft and NMS received multiple updates to their procgen algorithms after release.

sparky77556d ago

If they are talking about land vehicles I would be surprised if that's part of a free update and not DLC.

Going to be insane what this game becomes in a years time.

MrDead556d ago

You never know in a years time they could actually put some exploration and adventure in the game!!

Obscure_Observer555d ago

"Going to be insane what this game becomes in a years time."

It´s gonna be fantastic! I have no doubt about it!

Todd and Co. are masters of their craft!

andy85555d ago

If they were masters...wouldn't it have been nominated for something?

Vengeance1138555d ago

Shame the player base won't be there to enjoy it lol

“ Going to be insane what this game becomes in a years time”

This mentality needs to stop or all developers will think it’s acceptable

Obscure_Observer555d ago

"This mentality needs to stop or all developers will think it’s acceptable"

Wake me up when "all developers" have games as big and ambitious as Bethesda Softworks games like Fallout, TES and Starfield.

You know those games for a very VERY long time and you know full well that to this very day that NO COMPANY wants to fund or create whole universes like those. Specially for single player games!

Gamers nowadays are a bunch of entitled jerks! If game as big Starfield as is released in 5-6 years they´ll complain that it should be in the oven. If a game is in development for sa long as Star Citizen, they´ll complain the game will never be released.

The hard cold truth is, NOBODY is willing to invest on such big and expensive AAA single player games nowadays.

So you either support the developers that are trying to make those games better for us or you just stfu and move along, because it´s not like any developer is forcing you to buy their games at gun point!

I just wanna see better exploration , and better lore. The lore was missing alot compared to elders scrolls and fallout.

Lionsguard555d ago

I'll buy it 2-3 years from now when it's on a deep discount and they finally fix/add everything that modders will have to come in and fix themselves.

No one gives a crap about Starfield in 2025. I mean seriously, has anyone remembered this game even exists? Lmao

They really aren't. Nothing in Starfield is nearly as iconic as anything from Fallout.

Who is even playing Starfield? That was a major let down.
