Another essential psx classic to the collection. Good thing they don't just rerelease crappy licenced titles and barely anything else.

Rocketisleague544d ago

Shole i agree with you....this game was kinda awesome in a weird way.

Einhander1972544d ago (Edited 544d ago )

Last month the classics were .

Grandia
Jet Moto
Up
Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series - Klonoa: Door to Phantomile (PS1) and Klonoa 2: Lunatea’s Veil (PS2)
PaRappa the Rapper 2

That's 1 licensed game and 5 highly regarded classics

MrBaskerville544d ago (Edited 544d ago )

Grandia, up and Jet moto are the only games on this list that are actually newly added games. The rest are only new for the service, but have been available for a long time.

Just thinking of the ps1 and psp additions. They have added some classics, but also a lot of weird picks, considering the amount of classic games exist on psx.

I'm very happy with Grandia (though switch version is superior, and they also got the sequel). It just takes forever and when we only get 1-2 ports on a good month, these licenced games feels underwhelming. We get like 12 psx games a year, tops. If we got several psx ports every month, then I wouldn't mind as much.

Also wouldn't hurt if they ported ps2 games. so far the service hasn't had a single newly added port. There's so much potential. Tons of cool jrpgs and survival horror games galore. But we'll never get any of it. No Silent Hill, no Kuon, no Project Zero, no Siren 2, No Shadow Hearts, no Digital Devil saga and so forth.

To me the cool thing about premium was that they would add classic games that could also be purchased. They do, but it takes forever and the selection is a little odd. There's been some cool stuff, but considering the massive potential it has been a huge letdown. I was willing to buy a lot of shit but has gone the emulator route now, I don't have the patient. I will be dying of old age before i get to buy a legal copy of Parasite Eve 2 at this rate.

I don't mean for this comment to come across wrong, just replying to your comment which was reasonable, not trying to argue, just reply.

A lot of what you listed are games that are made by studios that no longer exist so licensing them is the issue.

As for Grandia 2, it will probably be added in the future. And Silent Hill if it's going to be added it makes sense for Sony and Konami to add them closer to the release of the SH2 Remake.

Klonoa 2 is the PS2 version, and I imagine that after they are satisfied with the PS1 and PSP selection of games they will start adding more PS2 games.

To be fair Premium is only $2.65 over the cost of Extra, last months games are easily worth $2.65 I think at least, plus you get 4k game streaming and a movie collection. Heck Klonoa is $40 by itself.

Oh, I liked playing this game as a kid, I might pick it up eventually.

Profchaos544d ago (Edited 544d ago )

This game was universally hated but I couldn't get enough. It was one of those games that I played with my non gaming dad and we bonded over it way back so it's special to me akin to Mario in a weird way another title that we bonded over on the NES. I never owned it but the amount of money I spent renting it I could of brought it thrice over

It was the first game that made me feel all powerful and just like a Jedi it wasn't just combat to there were puzzles and walking around Tatooine talking to vendors trying to use force as a persuasion I loved it.

I don't think there's been a game since that's captured that same feeling even Jedi power battles to my young mind wasn't quite as good. I remember disliking the final level there was a impossible jump I could never land when chasing Darth maul and the section where you had to follow jar jar to the underwater gungan city was a exercise in frustration

I'm excited but nostalgia is a fickle beast and I'll probably walk away disappointed.

mkis007544d ago (Edited 544d ago )

This was the first game I ever wanted on a playstation system. Never had any interaction with a ps1 before this and I still remember ( through rose tinted glasses) being blown away by the opening sequence being like the movie.

It's quite funny how cool i thought this was to what i think it looks like now.

its a good game, difficult and abit confusing, but still very good.
neer made it far tbh ha.

Saw that Balatro got over 100000! Reviews on Steam. Crazy.

Only game from these three I care about is Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun since it seems to be a nice fps.

darthv7237d ago

boltgun is pretty damn fun... I have it on my steamdeck and it is crazy good.

DefenderOfDoom237d ago

I bought Warhammer Boltgun for the PS4. Very fun retro style FPS !

Damn, I thought the Until Dawn Remake was going to be one. Not a month for me.

S2Killinit37d ago

Pretty good month for me though. I would say great.

Tacoboto36d ago

The developer of the remake has already been effectively shut down, too.

Yui_Suzumiya37d ago

Boltgun is so much fun. I own it on Steam, PS4 and Switch (Physical). Beaten it so many times that I could probably get through it in my sleep, lol.

Strange why people disagree with me. Probably they are illiterate or just fanboys who hates PS.

Anyway, the articles clearly said it and I just saved you a click. Thanks Moegooner for the list of countries

Mmmkay58d ago

Or maybe there is a difference between south America and Latin America..

With these reckless trade wars going on, expect videogames to keep getting more expensive.

babadivad57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

Switch prices were locked in before the Tarrifs. They just conveniently used the tarrifs as an excuse to calm outrage.

PSN is a digital service and isn't subjected to any kind of tarrifs.

They have been trying to find a way to increase the price for years.

Don't let them trick you into blaming tarrifs for corporate greed.

crazyCoconuts58d ago

When I look at Brazil, the increased price for PS Essential new users annually is equivalent to $61 USD, monthly is $7.50 USD. In the US it's more expensive. Just an observation that maybe they've been getting a better deal all along.

BeHunted57d ago (Edited 57d ago )

"Just an observation that maybe they've been getting a better deal all"

No, not every country has the same average salary as the United States. When releasing games and consoles, pricing should be based on the local economy and wages, which are often very different from those in the U.S

crazyCoconuts57d ago

"When releasing games and consoles, pricing should be based on the local economy and wages"
So companies should sell consoles at a large loss in impoverished countries?

Sony is run by imbeciles unfortunately

Zenzuu58d ago (Edited 58d ago )

In your own words.

*All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.*

Now, I'll change some of it.

anast58d ago

They have to keep up with Nintendo's prices.

Michiel198958d ago

yes they decided on this in a week, it can't be that they were planning it anyway, it couldn't have been. Not from your favourite company.

anast58d ago

It's strange. It's like you read the words, but you don't have the ability to understand them.

ARESWARLORD58d ago

I already find it to be a terrible value. Go ahead and up the price and 100% lose me.

andy8557d ago (Edited 57d ago )

Not saying a price increase is good but I'm paying £8 a month for access to 1000 games. That's absolutely not terrible value

ARESWARLORD54d ago

How many of those games are you actually playing
