The Nerd Stash: "The Game Awards is no stranger to controversy, but the show's problems are clearer than ever after a series of painful missteps."
This reminds me of Gameworks and sounds really fun. F1 Arcade (F1Arcade.com/us/), the world’s first premium F1 entertainment experience, today opened its first US location in Boston Seaport.
Cool , only a 20 minute ride for me. I am going to check it out . I hope they have a lot of retro Arcade cabinets. Now that Mary Jane is legal in Massachusetts it would been awesome if they served Edibles at the bar also. I once played music and promoted a EA Madden tournament at a nightclub in Greater Boston in 2003 . Only problem is hardly anybody drank booze because between games most of the crowd would just go out to there car and smoke weed . So it would be awesome if they got a weed license to at least serve Edibles.
It's time to add two more games to your library for free from the Epic Games Store.
Microsoft just posted the third quarter of its 2024 fiscal financial results. The software maker made $61.9 billion in revenue and a net income of $21.9 billion during Q3. Revenue is up 17 percent, and net income has increased by 20 percent.
Xbox content + services up 62% while hardware down 31%... seems about right with the way they tout you don't need the hardware to play. People can play on their phones or smart tv or other means. I don't hardly play on my consoles directly since getting devices like the logitech g-cloud and ps portal. Which is to also say I have been playing more digital than physical because of these devices.
Too expensive hardware when others offer the same or more for less? Good work, Green Team.
"Despite some early successes for Xbox games on rival platforms, Xbox hardware is down by a massive 31 percent this quarter."
"Without Activision Blizzard, Microsoft’s overall gaming revenue would have actually declined this quarter."
"Xbox content and services would have only been up a single percent without Activision Blizzard..."
"It looks like next quarter is going to be a similar story for gaming at Microsoft, too."
That is crazy... so A/B/K is carrying the whole Xbox gaming.
Oh and Microsoft will be fine. Windows, Office and Cloud are growing with each pc purchase.
The awards are pure marketing anyway. the whole show is basically a big ad.
It's basically becoming the new E3 but it's not a bad thing, I prefer big game announcements at the end of the year providing they start to do it when it's going to come out for the end of the following year
I just think some awards aren't needed like
Best Adaptation
Content Creator of the Year
Best Esports Game
Best Esports Athlete
Best Esports Team
Best Esports Coach
Best Esports Event
We should have things like Best New Gameplay Innovation, Best Enemy/NPC AI, Best Physics so on
I don't care about the awards either, my favorite games never win (except BG3) or even get nominated.
I would be fine if they removed the whole stage part of the show, mostly it's painful to watch, in fact I honestly paused a bunch of it then came back and skipped ahead.
The only thing I really care about is the trailers.
And I bet the truth is these journalists who are covering this are the same and are just saying this to get controversy clicks. And the fact of the matter is people always complained about the stage part of all these types of shows which is why things like Nintendo Direct and PlayStation Showcases are basically just trailers. That's what people actually wanted.
Are you just learning this now? Its always been a trash show, run by idiots, for the lowest common denominator of viewer.
These stupid publishers thinks its a good marketing idea to advertise during this worthless show. I actually hate to see publishers support such a blatant slap in the face to their own industry.
i like this award show and of course they have sponsorships.
any award show is basically useless.
