"I've had the slime of my life.
The next entry in the Dragon Quest spin-off series, Dragon Quest Monsters, has arrived. Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince will be released on Switch today, and you can pick it up for $60. Remember, there is also a free demo available on the Switch eShop as well." -Rawmeatcowboy, GoNintendo
A new Square Enix March 2024 Switch eShop sale is up and running with the lowest prices ever for Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince, Paranormasight, Star Ocean: The Second Story R, and more.
"SQUARE ENIX are today very proud and excited to share that "DRAGON QUEST MONSTERS: The Dark Prince", the latest role-playing game in the "DRAGON QUEST Monster" series, has officially shipped 1 million units globally since it’s successful launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch™, at retail and digitally via the Nintendo® eShop." - SQUARE ENIX.
Why make it Switch exclusive? Surely the sales would be higher if it also released on PS4/5 and Steam. Maybe not so high on Xbox but no reason to not release it there as well.
CCG writes - "Overall, I rather enjoyed this as a Dragon Quest fan, both of the main games and the Monsters sub-series. It did feel a little underbaked and was missing features from the Dragon Quest Joker games and 3DS remakes of the original 1 and 2, but it still has quite a lot of content regardless. Technically, it's fairly solid and worthy of its price, though I would hope they release an expansion version at a later date to add back features this game is missing from prior titles. If you love the series or are just a diehard for monster collection games like Pokémon, this title is more than a worthy purchase."
