Launching with little marketing.
Launching digital only with delayed physical release.

Yeah, that'll do it, especially for a niche title - MARKET YOUR GAMES.

Little marketing? Lol. They had TONS of trailers, plenty of livestreams, giveaways, massive booth at Gamescom, and more. It was handled literally by the biggest marketing company in the US.

It had plenty of marketing.

ModsDoBetter200d ago

Nah it didn't, never seen anything about it until I happened upon it when I was glancing at the PSN pre-order page, tucked away at the bottom was the game.

As such, it implies the only people who knew about the game were those who were actively looking for it.

Tell me, was it showcased at any recent event or no? Because having a booth at Gamescom for the very limited number of people who attend in person is a stark contrast to those who watch the event.

The fact that *you* didn't hear about it is irrelevant.

It was showcased at various livestreams including Opening Night live, Warhammer Skulls, and more.

The simple fact is that even a large percentage of dedicated Warhammer fans don't care about Age of Sigmar, because it's crap.

ModsDoBetter199d ago

Okay so you just confirmed it wasn't showcased at an event with a big audience such as Gamescom.

Thanks for proving my point.
I don't know anyone who knew it existed either.

Furthermore:

"The fact that *you* didn't hear about it is irrelevant."

Uno reverse: the fact that *you* heard about it is irrelevant.

Would you look at that?

Abriael199d ago (Edited 199d ago )

@oIMyersIo: "opening night live" is Gamescom's show with Geoff Keighly.

So yeah. You're wrong. Welcome to that realization.

Avoiding my other statement, interesting. Pick and choose what to reply to. Sounds about right for you.

Abriael199d ago (Edited 199d ago )

Do you seriously expect me to respond to "I don't know anyone who knew it existed" or juvenile stuff like "uno reverse"? lol.

You're wrong. It's that simple. The fact that you or whatever friends you may have don't know about something doesn't mean that something isn't advertised.

This is *entirely* on the lack of popularity of Age of Sigmar, which should have been taken into account when they decided to make a game out of it and in their estimates.

Warhammer just can't catch a break man.

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin review - A Faction from Greatness | TechStomper

"Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is a competent but basic RTS lovingly draped in Warhammer. The presentation and campaign will thrill series fans, and newcomers to the genre get a great entry-level title."
