PlayStation India Hero Project Will Unveil Its First Batch Of PS5 Games In The First Half Of 2024

Sony has announce during the India Game Developer Conference that it will unveil the first slew of PS5 games to be developed with help from its India Hero Project within the first few months of 2024.

I'm quite interested to see what comes out of this. The China heroes project turned out a couple good games with a couple still coming.

This is more interesting than the China one. As I don't think there is any major Indian game or franchise out there, so this is a really good chance to put Indian developers in the spotlight.

Give Raji: An ancient epic a shot if you haven't. It is about Hindu mythology. I really enjoyed it. It goes on sale quiet often. I bought it for less than $10.00.

Nah, what you do is partner with an AI company so you can eventually fire all the writers and artists and crap out cheap AI games on your service and undermine the competition/industry with souless cheap AI crap.

I'm really curious to see what kind of games are produced. Certainly the potential for unique perspectives in the gaming industry, which is super exciting in an industry that, while still fun, has largely stagnated in terms of real innovation.

Here, I think my concern is the loss of perspective to appeal to a broader audience. A number of JRPGs for example have moved away from turn based combat to have a western appeal, for example. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. A number of Chinese games look extremely interesting, though they remind me of Dark Souls (Black Myth Wukong) or Devil May Cry (Lost Souls Aside) for example.

If that's the original vision, that's cool, but I really want to inject that culture into the content being produced.

I misread the title and thought it said Indie Hero and my first thought was that they stole that idea from Evercade! 🤣

In any case, will be interesting to see what comes out of this.
