October 26, 2023, saw the beginning of The Finals open beta, and within a few days, The Finals reached the maximum capacity on Steam. After hitting 7.5 million active players, Embark Studios has announced the end of open beta.
The Finals player base got a boost thanks to the PS4 version, though Embark has no plans for an Xbox One version saying it's due to ".strictly hardware."
oh damn, i didnt know they made a ps4 version.
maybe they outweighed the effort vs the amount of xbox players in general.
thats generally why these things dont happen
well ... seems like there might be Switch 2 version as well
better do that before Marathon
While Embark thinks there will be new challenges for live service games in every year, they see The Finals still being played in 3-5 years.
The Finals spring event is back and bigger than ever before, with punky skins, a limited-time event, and hoppin’ rewards that are no yoke.
I liked it. The only issue was the controls feel way too heavy on PS5 and they need a 120fps mode.
Great start just improve from here.
I don't get it, how is this game any different from the dozens of other games just like this?
It's so weird how 20 companies can all make the exact same game and 19.5 of them will totally crash and burn and that other half a game get's 7.5 million players day one.
