"Profit focused" What did George Carlin say about soft language? Shell shock is now PTSD.

Greed is now "profit focused."

Interesting.

JackBNimble174d ago

Without profits there are no employees, without employees there are no games.

Does it always have to be about greed with you guy's? Do you understand how companies actually need to make money to run and employ people?

Without employees, there are no profits.

Does it always have to be greed with you guys? Do you understand that in 1949 the tax code and pro worker laws made the USA the biggest, richest middle class in the world? How did those companies pay people living wages? And those companies still exist today.

How do a company like Wegmans or Budweiser pay their employees so well? Oh that's right, those at the top don't earn exponentially more than their average employees.

I'm sorry, but you've been duped by corporations.

Layoffs aren't a new thing. Businesses wanting to profit isn't a new thing.

What is the point of this article?

phallusitator175d ago

Agree. Companies in it to make money...

I doubt there's a person on here that isn't profit focused.

"Is there a risk of increased predatory monetization that consumers should be aware of as companies adjust to the new market conditions within the games industry?" - Went in loaded I see.

SimpleSlave175d ago

As long as they only fire the employees that have no choice and not those in power that make all the horrible decisions then they should be good to go.

Lets go!

Embracer CEO demonstrates a masterclass in mental gymnastics in latest interview.

Turned based Phantasy Star and Shinning Force remain at the top of my list of Sega IPs that need to return. At the very least I'd take a Shining Force collection that has 1,2,3, CD and the Game Gear entries.

FinalBoss6d ago

I was hesitant to put these two on. I've personally played more PSO than the RPG version. And shame on me, I don't remember much about Shining Force to talk about it properly.

That said, so many Sega licences deserve their place in this list.

A new Phantasy Star in the numbered series would be amazing. Shining Force too. But I’d settle on some collections as that’s probably the best we will get

anast6d ago

I don't trust Sega to do a proper comeback. The games will be just remastered and/or monetized to death.

shining force.

but indont see that happening unfortunately.
