RoboCop: Rogue City Review - IGN

RoboCop: Rogue City is the video game equivalent of a B movie in the best way, with the look and over-the-top action to capture the essence of the series.

the demo was really fun. If there was one area where it need just a bit more attention to detail would be the sound effects. They nailed the voice synth but the auto 9 and the walking sound so flat.

ANIALATOR136552d ago

I think it was character animation more than anything. The lip syncing was a bit off and some of the eyes looked a bit dead

Ninver553d ago

Decent score. Anything above a seven deserves a try in my opinion. Besides, the NOSTALGIA!

REDGUM553d ago (Edited 553d ago )

So you won't be trying it then?

CrimsonWing69553d ago

lol yea I was scratching my head on this comment, too.

LordStig553d ago

Maybe he'll get it on gamepass so he can say "i'll buy that for a dollar"

Elda553d ago

Loved the movies, will buy this Thursday.

Looks like a great game studio has come along way from the ps360 classic "Rambo the videogame"

I'm genuinely shocked teyon as a studio is still operational after all these years as they initially were focused on putting out Wii shovelware simple cut and paste shooting galleries that were made in weeks and used whatever the current cod theme was that year.

Then Rambo on PS3 and 360 took years to actually release and it's DLC given the projects poor sales I didn't expect them to survive let alone go on to Start making good games.

Then they actually made an ok terminator game and now RoboCop has turned out to be good

What world are we living in again

neutralgamer1992553d ago

This is messed up. You have soulless corporate shills reviewing games at these bigger sites. This is a very good game and these developers have done justice to both this and their past terminator game. In todays gaming where greed is everywhere we have these developers respecting the source material and making very good games for their fans

https://youtu.be/QV8Mm3xtlk...

Watch someone is is actually fan of the sour material like GmanLives or ACG.

such a fantastic game. and it plays great on the portal. If they ever add a VR2 support, then it would be perfect.

MrDead12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

If you're on PC you can use UEVR, it works really well with Robocop. I'm Looking forward tho this DLC.

Man... i gotta step up my PC game. Havent built a new machine since 2010... and honestly i havent had the need to since I prefer consoles for all my gaming needs. Steamdeck has been good to supplement PC gaming that my old tower cant do.

This was such a great game, wished I played it sooner, but then I wouldn’t have the joy of discovering something everyone else already knew. So much fun that I actually went after the platinum and got it, although it’s really not difficult to achieve.

I will be waiting and watching for the release of the dlc for this great game.

Still a bit miffed they weren't able to perfectly recreate the auto9 sound from the first movie. It's a distinct sound and they just do not quite get there.

First game was great! My pile of games is ever growing but I’ll throw this on the pile sometime this year

Playing the base game now. It's clunky but kinda fun.
I'm streaming it actually. Went screwy during my second session but the other two sessions have been fine.

Yesssss. Been wanting to give Robocop a whirl! Getting 80's nostalgia-slammed this month it seems, I guess I'll give Texas Chainsaw Massacre a shot too. Dad had me watching that stuff at like 7 years old back in the 80's. XD Game on!

TheEroica41d ago

Playing it now on steam deck. It was 9.99 recently. It's wonderful. Love it.

I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised with Robocop, one of my favorite games this gen

VenomUK41d ago

I heard that it's really good. Too many games but I will definitely give this a go as it seems actioney and I will be able to play in small chunks.

jznrpg41d ago

RoboCop and Digimon are good games. I don’t know much about Texas Chainsaw Massacre, I ffigured it was a multiplayer game and wrote it off.

Elda41d ago

I got rid of my copy of Robocop after finishing the game. Now I can get it through Plus to play the dlc releasing this summer.

Robocop is bad ass... so good i had to get it twice.

Sweeet, more Robocop is awesome news.

One of my favourite games of 2023, it helped get rid of the bad vibes and disappointment Starfield left. I really had a blast with this game, keep jumping back in since I finished it as it has such a good gameplay feel.

UnbreakableAlex59d ago

Robocop is a great game indeed, I loved it.
Great to see more is coming.

I deleted starfield after 5 hours ^^ what a letdown.

jznrpg59d ago (Edited 59d ago )

Saw this on PlayStation Blog yesterday. The first game was really fun albeit a bit simple but it felt like RoboCop. I’m in for the sequel as long as they have a physical copy available like the first game.

ZeekQuattro59d ago

A welcome surprise for sure. I recently rrpurchased the game on my PS5 for around $9. I had it since launch on my Series S but at that price I double dipped.

BlackCountryBob58d ago

Great news, so happy to be getting more of this game which to me was one of my highlights of 2023 / early 2024 but hoping this springboards into a full sequel for launch in 2026

Toecutter0056d ago

The game has a real charm to it. A little more polish overall, especially with the voice acting and enemy a.i and it could be a truly AAA experience.
