If WoW were to be put into gamepass, only the basic version of the title would likely be made available.

I'm waiting for a new WOW announcement but it's been over 2 decades now and I lost hope when the original developer's left Activision

A man who uses logic instead of trying to spin a narrative, good on you.

Looking at the other comments, shows people would throw jabs for anything, as a gamer you would think they would be happy not to have to pay for a specific one-game sub..but it's MS, so, of course, the negative viewpoint needs to be found. I also doubt WoW is picking up loads of new players, so dropping the base sub would be an injection.

Look at Battlefield 2024 free weekend.

Free? GP costs money, expansions cost money, and tons of games that may be past their prime go free-to-play, to capitalize on new players, buying MTX, and expansions Destiny 2 is a perfect example. Contrary to terrible narrative spinning, GP is not free, people pay for a sub and want more content, same as PS+, Netflix, and just about every single subscription service out there.

So no moving the goalpost is necessary, it's just viewing things from a logical, normal point of view coinciding with industry trends. There is no doubt prices will go up eventually, but that can be seen with PS+ as well...it's not MS thing lol.

@MTRNYC

Somehow Microsoft convinced people that with GamePass all of the following are true:

1) Microsoft makes more money
2) Developers make more money
3) Consumers spend less money

Do the math, its not possible.

A WoW subscription is at least $13/month. Rolling that into GamePass at the current price would be a huge net loss at GamePass' current pricing. Any division that just spent $80 billion isn't gonna give $13/month savings to the consumer as their first move

InUrFoxHole193d ago

"You will pay for everything"
We already are.
1. $70 games
2. Increased psn price
3. Increased digital console price
4. $29.99 for a vertical stand
5. $80 for a disc drive

I don't think Xbox is going to put WOW in game pass at all.. there no reason for them to destory sub counts on WoW and makes zero sense.

Zeref193d ago (Edited 193d ago )

Wow needs a player base injection. One way to do that is to bring it to Xbox and put it in GamePass.

They can make money from the expansions and microtransactions

Sephiroushin193d ago

they do not need any injection, they are one of the most played mmo, there is no need for them to cut subscriptions, maybe give base but thats all ... if they add an injection via f2p sub then you will pay it one way or another, maybe by getting plagued through microtransaction or p2w

Zeref193d ago

If they add WoW to GamePass I'll lose my social life forever lol. The sub fee is the only thing stopping me from playing right now

jznrpg174d ago

I played it at launch for a while it’s not worth losing anything over

Zeref173d ago (Edited 173d ago )

I mean thats your opinion lol I played a lot of it and it's one of my favorite games ever. I only stopped playing because of the sub fee and i mostly play on console
