Top 10 Most Addicting Games

You know these games. You can't put down the controller, you walk to go to the bathroom and you have vertigo from looking at a screen too long, you're mother used to yell at you saying "stop playing that damn game"! These are the products of the most addicting video games. In this list we will go through the most addicting video games of all time. Many to choose from, many to eliminate, many obvious choices. These games you would play into all the hours of the night and then go to bed just to get enough rest to play them immediately in the morning. You couldn't get away from these games and for this reason would be remembered as some of the greatest video games of all time.

Tecmo Bowl...I would put Super Mario World over SM3 personally, but liked them both...and it needs the original mario kart...NOT double dash...cheap ass blue shell...i've never played another game in my life that punishes you for doing well...there was only one real mario kart...

but Doom for me takes the cake by far...12 years old on my parents new Gateway 2000 486 (yeah, they were called '2000s' back then)...playing till the sun came up on friday nights into Saturday with friends...

Twisted Metal 2 and Goldeneye would also be on my list...instead of Sim City and Dr. Mario...I agree with starcraft though...that game still kicks ass...

I cant say CoD 4 is addicting when it doesnt have higher play time then other games....game was great and I have 11 days online in it but only because it was what my friends were playing....overall that game was dull and repetitive b4 the 2 month mark..

when I mean dull and boring...it was too easy and too repetitive...only reason I played it was because my friends all played it....sometime it would be ok fun but for the most part it was just whatever and half of the time was done within the first few months...and the game was has been out for over a year...I also have 40000+ kills as well....and the highest kill ratio on my friends list so :/ but hated the fact that the game was never supported by the developers...it could have been better if there would have been an update of weapons and maps...

Also when I say dull and boring...the game was kind of easy and I never had those adrenaline rushes from it like some other games....no real feel of excitement that often.

And for OLDWIZARD I agree tetris and starcraft were addicting .... and tetris can be seen in the sales alone...people loved that game

i will agree with u that the snes mario kart was awesome. i didnt like n64 version though. the blocky graphics have not aged well at all.

for me, double dash was the most addictive though. the battle mode maps were great, the tracks, were great and the weapons were awesome.

For me, Goldeneye 007, Perfect Dark, and CoD4 would have to be added. If we are doing PC as well, then Quake 3 Team Arena and UT2004 as well.

I would also put on the list the game Everquest from SOE/Verant that I played for 7 years.
Not even WoW made me play that much time.....

I have never played a game for more then 10 hours straight besides Everquest that I think I played it once 19 hours non stop.
This MMoRPG is pure drug especially if you were in a high end guild like Afterlife..... those guys played 24/7 .....

Can't wait to see the announcement EQ3 coming to the PS3 .....
Eq3 and GTA5 will be the greatest announcements I am waiting for the next years to come.

well i think now a days there are to many games coming out so close to each other that it's hard to play them all. you play them for a while then move onto something else really quickly because it looks really good or interesting or new and you just don't play the same game as much as you used to. think about the 2008 holiday season how many good games came out??

i don't need to name them you all know them. how many did you buy (receive as a gift) will you still be playing them all this year when Killzone, halo wars, resident evil, street fighter, tekken, gran turismo, heavy rain................... the list goes on and on so many games you either play lots for a while or miss out on some great experiences.

world of warcraft definitely deserves number one spot i mean theirs people that nearly got 1 year gaming time on there its crazy. also theres nearly 12 million people playing that game which is the most out of any online rpg game

That list needed a good fighter... Maybe a Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat or Soul Calibur (DC version, of course)

Also a beat em up!!! Where is Double Dragon... or Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles... or Final Fight???

That list lacks some GREAT addictive games, while posting some which truly are not....

Oh and sure... a good FPS.. I would go for Counter Strike, sure you can´t beat that :)
