Sales of the PS5 in Japan have already passed the two million mark, with Sony’s flagship console now selling twice as fast in the country as it did last year. With stock readily available, it’s not surprising to see PS5’s fortunes in Japan turning around, but it’s still good to see nonetheless.
That’s not all, though. The PS5 is also the first PlayStation console to have sold two million units in a single year — or in this case, just nine months — since the PS2 achieved the same milestone back in 2005. Life-to-date PS5 sales have reached 4,408,983 in Japan so far, and this year the console’s sales total 2,031,594.

Good good good. Very good. Sony is smashing. It means more games, more sales that leads to more games.

More Japanese games please. Many of my favorites are from Japan.
Excellent
