The Verge writes: "A document released as part of the FTC v. Microsoft case confirms what was long expected: The Elder Scrolls VI isn’t going to launch for a few years, and it isn’t coming to PlayStation."
If MS are planning for the next xbox to be in 2028... I'd bet ES6 to be around the same time. So 2026 likely isnt going to happen since they only just begun working on it.
Unless they plan on just reusing Skyrim assets and building up from there...?

We don´t know much about the actual stage of development for TESVI. hopefully wi´ll be getting it before the next Xbox console arrives.
That said, to be an Xbox exclusive is nothing but expected since Phil said years ago that Bethesda´s games don´t need Playstation to be successful. Starfield´s success is nothing proof.
We do know. Pete Hines said right before the release of Starfield that TES6 moved from pre-production into early development.
If you're quoting Phil, keep in mind he also said that he doesn't intend to take established franchises away from fans, and that Starfield is a new IP with no existing fanbase so it's okay to be exclusive.
Bethsadas games do need that though. How long does ms continue to put 200 million into these types of games and not get real sales from. Gamepass I probably damn near what it's gonna be subscriber wise. I doubt they ever get that number their looking for let alone even 50 mill
Oblivion and Skyrim were in the same console generation. Why not ES6? And there was a pretty big difference between the 2 visually.
When playing Starfield I actually caught myself thinking how a lot of the good things the game did would be incredible in a proper open world elder scrolls game.
Bethesda's next game's usually iterates on/over their current game's assets/tech ... So ES6 will use and iterate over Starfield's tech ... But the scope of ES6's playable area will be much less than Starfield's
I think that's probably a good thing if anything. I enjoyed Starfield, but the more I played it the more I realised I was just using it to fill the elder scrolls sized void.
They have been working on the world and tech for years now about the years ago they dropped some info about their new rendering tool so it's but like no work has been done
Fu€k MS. is my answer to all that. As if we didn’t know MS was going to do this. Im glad people learned this in advance considering MS wanted a double dip announcement. Its the kind of thing they do. What a horrible company.
I was referring to the games they have been playing with acting like they were going to keep games on PlayStation, just so that they can later announce that its xbox only. They get double the exposure.
Also, f&ck them for doing what they are doing in light of released emails revealing how they are working behind the scenes to acquire even more of the industry.

My point still stands though, Sony is doing exactly the same though? If it wasn't for a recently bought studio in Insomniac their exlcusive line up would be woeful. I own a PS5, I don't own an Xbox as a primarily PC gamer these days. But I have no problem in treating these companies the same, they're all as bad as each other. Sony these days are less consumer friendly than Xbox, but that's my opinion i know a lot on this site might disagree with.
What excuses? What I'm saying is just reality, listen pal the sooner we all treat these companies with the same energy will be a better day for gamers.
I don't defend Xbox at all, I don't own an Xbox, I do however make use of their services and at the moment they're providing me more as a gamer than Sony. I haven't touched my PS5 since FF16 and that's the only game on the Console I've played this year. It's not giving me a great deal of worth ATM.
The way I see it with all this acquisition and billions spend on popular franchise that sale in the upward of 10 millions on consoles and pc making them exclusives to Xbox and cutting the PS fan base in the hopes they switch is a double edged poison sword in one hand they’ll get a few sales not enough to get close to those previous sales of consoles and pc then when they try to get back the PlayStation fan base they’ll be mad and don’t buy their games like they did with valve back on PS3 era remember the orange box and how it flopped then their next game sales was very low. Microsoft isn’t independent from investors and by the time they see their investments returns going down on flames it will be too late to start courting the PS fan base. Personally I give it 7-10 years for this to happen or by the end of the CoD contract and their next game going exclusive to Xbox

It never has. You’ve got a paltry 400 trophies across 15 years versus a gamerscore north of 120,000. Like what you like, but Jesus lol.
A next gen launch title or a cross gen launch title. Elder Scrolls 6 would be a waste as a next gen launch title when only maybe a couple million people will have the new console at launch.
There are no more gens. The next consoles will be more of what they're doing now. Even faster loading, stable 60fps with more 120fps games. Graphics will be largely the same with some things being technically better and efficient, more storage that's about it though.
If the new consoles aren't out yet then I also fully expect ES6 to be full cross gen I'll bet money on it.
People disagreeing with you but is there honestly anything we have played on this current gen which wasn't playable on last gen that wasn't down to just the faster SSD's? I don't think so.
Personally these under powered consoles are the reason why Devs don't take full advantage of my system, so I'm not the biggest fan at the minute, and the gap between high end GPU's and consoles is getting wider.
The problem is with consoles because you're so limited by the hardware, Devs have to choose one of either visuals or performance (some get the balance right but that's getting more and more rare).
You can't play trailers so most Devs focus on visuals which is what sells, if people are buying hardware they want the better visuals to justify this.
In my opinion consoles need a gen where the visuals don't move forward all that much, and every game focuses on 60fps till that becomes the new standard.
Just due to disagrees not that I'm bothered, but are you guys happy with shoehorning Ray tracing onto these underpowered consoles at 720p30fps like a lot of Devs are doing? If you're happy with that then sound, guess I'm the crazy one.
Have a feeling, ES6 will be the proper Bethesda current gen title through n through. And maybe get a next-gen version later? Starfield's not a true current gen game per se, even though it packs a lot of stuff for a Bethesda game. Starfield started out during last gen and was improved over to harness the current better hardware.

The Elder Scrolls 6 will be a launch title for the next Xbox in my opinion (2027/2028)
