They could have at least added DLSS at launch...

"They could have at least added DLSS at launch..."

Bethesda has a marketing agreement with AMD, so it´s nothing but expected that DLSS wouldn´t even be mentioned by them, specially at launch.

On topic: According to Todd Howard himself, it´s original release was planned to happen in 2021, but thanks to the acquisition by Xbox, Todd and his team was allowed 2 extra years to release the game in a far better shape.

Starfield is the most polished game ever released by Bethesda! Hopefully, TESVI´s release will be even better!

Pretty good place for a Bethesda game.. there you go fixed it

I took a break from playing due to other games releasing but Starfield definitely has its pain in the ass bugs & glitches.

"The developers have decided to embrace the fact that players are going to stick with the game for many years and they have decided to make the most out of it."

Awesome! That´s the plan! Starfield will be my favorite SCI-FI RPG game for many years to come!

"he added that Bethesda was already used to working with Microsoft, as they did several exclusive things with them. They have been great partners and Bethesda is very happy with the acquisition and with how Starfield has benefited from it. "

It has been only natural from the start. Bethesda first attempt at the console gaming was as an Xbox exclusive partner.

Shattered Space is gonna be amazing!

I like starfield , it's pretty good but best sci fi rpg easily star ocean , I like all the star oceans , yes even 5 but it's borderline on that one. Anyway starfield doesn't touch star ocean 2. Maybe after some updates

green7h ago

In your opinion.

I love sci-fi but Star Ocean while a good game, is just not my cup of tea.

My favourite sci-fi RPG is still Mass Effect

Oh yeah! Roadmap for next 10 years!!!.... I see nothing that can retain players. It's absolutely not like skyrim.

esherwood3h ago

As someone excited for starfield I’ve realized Bethesda’s days are behind them. They’ll never have another Skyrim. The amount of time and resources they put into starfield it doesn’t make sense how far behind modern AAA games it feels. How did witcher 3 manage to have a massive world with no load screens on last gen consoles yet starfield can’t even make a town seamless without having to load every building

"How did witcher 3 manage to have a massive world with no load screens on last gen consoles yet starfield can’t even make a town seamless without having to load every building"

Maybe because Starfield is far far bigger than the Witcher 3? The sheer amount of memory required in Starfield is just insane!

Haven´t you ever notice how your items placed in a room never disappear? Those itens need to be stored in separated data caches which needs to be loaded everytime you enter a new city, building or ship.

The very concept and scope in Starfield is different and far more bigger and ambitious than any open world game available.

Good news. Finished the main story recently. It's a great game.
Likely return to the game a year from now to see what's different.

What about fixing performance issues on nVidia GPUs before even planning to add anything?

DMgHalt10h ago

How is a game developer supposed to fix a performance issue with your GPU? Isn't that your job?

FYI, I have an nVidia GPU and have zero issues, so Idk what you're talkin about.

Obelisk927h ago

The game is very poorly optimized for nVidia GPUs and intel CPUs. There's nothing the end user can do about.

https://youtu.be/ciOFwUBTs5... Here's the full comparison by Digital Foundry.

I have a 6950 XT so no problem by my side either, but I played the game on a 2080 and the performance were awful... leagues behind every other demanding game with the same card.

JeffGUNZ7h ago

Dude, I am playing on a 3080 12gb at 1440 and the game struggles hardcore. I am on a 12th gen cpu too. 4090's struggle to keep 60fps at 4k. The game isn't greatly optimized, but DLSS will help a lot when that is patched in.

Yui_Suzumiya6h ago

Wondering how it would run on an Intel Iris Xe with 128MB of VRAM.

"The developers have decided to embrace the fact that players are going to stick with the game for many years and they have decided to make the most out of it."

In short, expect a lot of Creation Club like crap that they'll charge you for.

Sonic18817h ago

Funny you say that. The steam community keeps talking about that.
