it actually looks pretty good

Does look pretty good. Some of the character movements around the ring still look pretty stilted but overall the impacts and damage are huge upgrades.

People should be worried when EA says stuff like this: "Real Impact System".

I can not say I was disappointed, because I wasn’t expecting much, knowing EA. Looks visually nice. Not much better, as this series as pretty much always been great looking! With that said, the move to frostbite engine hasn’t made much of a graphical change/overhaul to the visuals that have me going WOW🤯 To be honest, had I not watched the trailer I woulda assumed the game was using the previous engine still, just ported over for the PS5/XboxSX.

Gameplay looks stiff, robotic, old animations, and while some new animations have been tossed in there it really looks like UFC4 etc. movement just looks really unimpressive with fighters foot looking unrealistic, with how they slide in the ring, it just looks messy. Props to the cuts/damage/blood, that looks really well done and better then in previous years.

Definitely won’t buy it Day 1. I’ll keep an eye out on it when reviews get closer. But after UFC UFC 1-2 the games went downhill.

I agree on all counts. I'm not seeing the huge difference Frostbite is making. It looks like the UFC 4 character models were simply imported into UFC 5 instead of being remade from the ground up. The gameplay improvements are appreciated though. This is no longer a Day 1 $70 purchase for me either.

MK1 and Tekken 8 both have story modes and actually "look" like current-gen experiences.

Agreed, it does look like the models were imported into UFC5, where as if they were remade from the ground up on this new engine they’re using you’d think we’d see a real difference. Yeah, I can appreciate some of the gameplay improvements, which look to add a greater sense of realism to the environment/feel of UFC in a sense.

And yes! Thank you for mentioning both MK1 and Tekken 8. Both of these games truly do look like current-gen experiences, and had me going WOW🤯lol, when I first saw footage of them.

Completely agree. I was so excited to finally see an actual gameplay footage but ended up being underwhelmed. They definitely could have done so much more. This video also made me decide not to get this game day 1. Will probably wait once it goes on sale.
