Wtf do people think a REMASTER is?
This remaster went way above expectations. New models and textures for everything, switching between old and new, it looks gorgeous and a beautiful package.
You want a remake, go play Anniversary. There's literally a perfect remake of the original already, and it had a HD port.
This is to play the originals on modern consoles, touched up gloriously. Since, you know, you can't actually play PS1 games on modern TVs.
Some people are just woefully ignorant to anything except their own little unrealistic expectations. Drives me nuts.

Especially since this game is 30$.

I would understand complaining if it was 60...but come on.

This has been confirmed for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC

Chard377d ago

I don’t get it - they’ve made a game from 1996 look like a game from 2001. I would guess it has the same old controls. I’m not seeing anything exciting here

Man the PS1 flat graphics really stand out in the environments, still a decent improvement here though. Then you get people saying stuff like "remasters don't upgrade the graphics, just resolution" which is obviously not true. I still say there's no clear cut definition of the word remaster, since some developers actually put effort in to do the graphics up.. *cough* unlike MGS.

Just because you don't know the difference doesn't mean "there's no clear cut definition". If the game is using mostly the original assets including controls, physics and geometry, and focuses mostly on resolution and performance upgrades, that's a remaster, if it's using mostly rebuilt assets, that's a remake. Some remasters have some remade models (like this game) but it's still just a remaster, just like adding CGI elements to a later releases of a film (like Star wars) doesn't mean the film has been remade.

Finally after many many years TRUE Lara Croft is back!

SimpleSlave377d ago (Edited 377d ago )

Who remastered this? Gameloft? This thing be looking like Shadow Guardian. Eww!

But thanks the gaming gods that the originals are still here, though. So it's all good...I think.

We'll see, I guess...😐

I would actually like for these games to be remade, in the vein of Halo CE, with a change to modern control schemes also. That would be an instant buy for me.

Tomb Raider I–III Remastered review - Museum Bait | TechStomper

"Tomb Raider I–III Remastered deserves credit for preserving so much of the original titles - but it never fixes control and camera issues that will put off those who weren't there first time around."

One of the most memorable fights I ever played. I almost didn't want to pull the trigger at the end.
