Will Baldur’s Gate 3 be any good on PS5?

With less memory and weaker hardware to work with, squeezing this enormous CRPG onto console will be no easy task.

Eonjay670d ago

Seems awfully clickbaity don't you think?

thorstein670d ago

I call it clickbait so all 4 of their journalists will downvote my comment.

Vengeance1138670d ago

Clickbait much? How will it run? Near perfectly of course.

just_looken669d ago

umm no it will run it but they will half to work around the Igpu sense sony still wont give there playstation a real gpu and the controller will half to be worked in more.

But you might be one to think the ps5 is a 8k60fps gaming beast no doubt.

Vengeance1138669d ago

Ummmmmm no, you come off as some kind of PC elitist clown. A "real" GPU? Like what one of your $2000 PC ones?
Nothing at all wrong with PS5 specs it's beyond capable of running any game put out this gen. If games have performance issues it's on the devs end.
Work in the controller more? Because that's somehow a challenge?? No, it's not. A ton of Strategy, RTS etc titles on console have no problem with controller mapping.

But you might think the PS5 is a Series S no doubt.

Flawlessmic669d ago (Edited 669d ago )

Lol wtf are you even talking about 😂

Are you always so negative about everything lol

I'm playing this on pc about 35 hrs in, ps5 will run it just fine, maybe a few downgrades here and there but it'll be fine.

Eonjay669d ago

*completely ignores that the PS5 GPU is more powerful than recommended specs for this this game*

dumahim669d ago

The recommended GPU on PC for this game is a 1060. That's not minimum. Recommended. PS5 has got it covered just fine.

raWfodog669d ago

I'll trust Larian who have already said that the game was running well on the PS5 and they were just trying to keep the fps steady at 60. Of course it will 'have' different GUI if you are using a controller but they've already confirmed that consoles will be able to use keyboard/mouse and play it like the PC version. Larian has proven that they have no problem developing their RPGs to run on consoles. No worries at all from me.

shammgod669d ago

That was a dumb response

just_looken669d ago

of course mass downvote

a real gpu has ram and vram to work with your ps5 does not.

i said it will run

you can get a gpu like ps5 has for $300usd max

but this site is full of sony blind boys

Chevalier669d ago

"of course mass downvote"

Because your comment is idiotic?! Game runs well on low spec Steamdeck even.

raWfodog669d ago (Edited 669d ago )

Your 'downvotes' are likely related to you insinuating that Larian's development issues are with the PS5 when it has already been clearly stated by Larian themselves that the current console issues lie squarely with the Series S platform. The PS5 and Series X have no GPU issues that have been reported by Larian. If you are worried about mass downvotes so much, then you wouldn't blatantly write misinformed comments.

LOL learn English before trolling.

myfathersbastard668d ago

Yyyeeeeaaahh because people HAVEN’T been saying how well it actually plays with controller already on PC…..

derek668d ago

@just, a real gpu? I suppose all those great games are running on the "fake" gpu. Lol

@ dumahim

What are you talking about? The recommended GPU is a 2060 super. I still think PS5 will run it, but this game is much more demanding then an aging 1060

darthv72669d ago (Edited 669d ago )

i imagine it will run it just fine. Heck... Steam Deck runs it (w/o split screen) and PS5 (and Series X|S) is more powerful than that.

anast669d ago (Edited 669d ago )

It will run great. It's the low to mid-tier PCs and the S, I would be most concerned about.

repsahj669d ago

You will be surprised that it will run great on PS5.

Baldur’s Gate 3 Is The Kind Of Game That Makes Me Wish I Could Play One Thing At A Time

I respect people who can dig deep on one game, and only one game, but I can't do it.

I used to play multiple games at a time but because of the time constraints I have I don’t have a choice but to play one game at a time or I’ll end up with some unfinished games. I like to get platinums for the games I enjoy the most so it can take me a long time to get to the next game.

It definitely takes some will power as I always have a stack of games I want to play at all times. But most of the games I play are really good and I am fully immersed when I’m playing a single game at a time.

raWfodog20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

Same here. I’ll focus on a game that I really enjoy and get the most out of it before moving onto the next title. That is why I have a massive backlog of games now.

Armaggedon21d ago (Edited 21d ago )

Same for me. I play so many games, currently playing oblivion, expedition, blades of fire, bg3 with friends , avowed, and Nioh 2. After learning more about myself and gaining mastery, I have developed an ability to get fulfillment from a game without needing to “complete” it. Unless of course, a game hooks me for the story, in which case I have to complete it to see what happens. I have discovered that in terms of gameplay, one can get most if not all of the expected experience in about 25% of progress through play.

Ninver20d ago

Sounds like renting is the best way to go in your case. No point in buying games you won't complete.

Armaggedon20d ago (Edited 20d ago )

It depends on what one deems as “complete.” For some, it is completing the story, and for others it is completing all tasks and objectives. Usually when this happens, people will feel “that was fun, whats next.” There is always a whats next. Cant think of anyone that has consumed media and thought “I am completely satisfied and will not need to play or watch another. I have simply mastered this “hunger” if you will. I am able to get so far in a game and then move to another without needing to reach a certain requirement. A benefit of this is that I do not get bored, as that game I didn’t beat still has mystries to unravel and new things I haven’t done.
