I was having fun with the original until I got tuck on a boss. After going through the graveyard and fighting a sub boss I guess I was suppose to pick up a sword and never did.

Went on to fight the boss whose attacks were jumping attacks to produce concentric spikes in the ground. For a video I partially remember I needed that fire sword to make the fight easier. Learning that I went back to the graveyard but could not get the sword it was embedded in the ground.

I messed up by only using one save file, so I couldn’t go back to an earlier save. So I was just stuck in that small area without anyway to get pass the boss. I’m sure there was another way but I never figured it out and couldn’t get the timing of the boss correct to finally beat him so I just gave up.

This new game I am eargerly awaiting, and hope it’s just as good as the original.

Demon's Souls isn't Soulslike. It's the original Souls game. WTF? And Elden Ring?

Another Crab's Treasure simply is not.

All the journos claiming things are "Soulslike" simply don't know what that word means.

GeeEssEff135d ago

The term “Soulslike” has become ridiculously diluted. I have seen it used for games just because they are difficult.

Reminds me of Doom like back in the days for every FPS game

Yeah, souls, souls lite, souls like same goes for rogue.

anast134d ago

It's either AI or the writer doesn't know the subject matter.

robtion134d ago

I've played all of these bar the Crab one so not a very accurate title.

Nioh 1+2 imo are the best souls clone. Love the melee combat and ki system, really hoping team ninja doesn't abandon the IP and continue with a new title, hell just give us your take on the western fantasy setting for a new nioh game.

robtion134d ago

Yes Nioh 2 in particular is great. Also Wo Long (which is basically Nioh 3).

qalpha134d ago

Should have included 'Lies of P'. Seriously fun game.

Nacho_Z134d ago

That's what I was going to say, great game. Best non From Soulslike I've played.

Lords of the Fallen 2 PC release will be handled by Epic Games, which is bad news for Steam gamers

A sequel to the excellent action RPG Lords of the Fallen is coming in 2026 to PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. The game will be published by Epic Games on PC, which means it probably won't be coming to Steam.
