Oof. guess people have been emulating this already. And likely at better quality & frame rate than the actual console.. Pretty embarrassing for Nintendo.

Nintendo doesn’t chase power anymore and if people cared Switch wouldn’t have sold 125 million and counting.

True but also…it’s the only place to get Mario, Zelda, Animal Crossing, Metroid etc

That’s more than enough to buy the console still

However they could still have a bit of focus on things like power, not PS5/Xbox levels but something.

I love my switch. I get to play animal crossing NH, a massive catalog of resident evil games, my south park games, Skyrim, the GTA trilogy, Spyro reignited trilogy, the saints row games, and a ton of other games, all on the go or on my couch or in bed. Switch is amazing. 🤷‍♂️
I HATE being glued to a TV set or sitting at a computer. Yes, steam deck is available now of course, but it's somewhat expensive and newer.

(And reminder switch outsold the competition and continues to do so)

I just keep the Switch for the insane first-party games, I'll buy Nintendo consoles based on the strength of their games library alone.

bigfish669d ago

That can be said for any console including xbox and PS not just the switch. PC hardware can be upgraded constantly, consoles work within the boundaries of the built in hardware.

cammers1995669d ago

Switch has outsold the competition. They clearly don't need to target graphics or power. It's the experience. Stop being lame.

Hofstaderman669d ago

Execs at Nintendo must be fuming probably planning on suing someone for this.

Yea, in this particular case I'd say this isn't cool. I can only support Roms of games that are no longer on the market.

Btw, I just started using EmuVR to build my virtual 80's/90's room.. absolutely amazing!

It doesn't matter how powerful Nintendo makes their console, crappy people will still find a way to not have to pay for their games for the sake of "sticking it" to Nintendo or because of alleged "backups" that they are ripping from their own games.

The 10 Biggest Nintendo Direct Moments of the Switch Generation

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "Last week Nintendo held this year's surprisingly packed not-E3 Direct; with a full schedule for this year and a vague promise of a console successor next year, it's very possible that we've now seen our final Nintendo Switch Direct, or at least one with major first party reveals. That makes this a good time to sit back and reflect on a generation of Direct moments, from the shocking and surprising, to the joyous and exhilarating - and, quite often, all at once."

Best Strategy Game of 2023

VGChartz's Chinh Tran: "As demonstrated by our finalists, strategy gamers had a lot of variety in where they would spend their time executing meticulous moves and mulling over decisions. Although the following games offer different strategic experiences and force gamers to consider different elements, their core aspects remain similar. And no matter what you decided to play, you were guaranteed a mental workout."

WayTooManyGames' Top 20 Best Games of 2023

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Ah, 2023. You were a chaotic year in terms of wars, climate change, politics, and other bad news, but when it came to gaming, yet again, despite all odds, you were still able to deliver. Even though games got delayed, Nintendo Switch ports got sent out in the wild running at 10 frames a second, companies got shut down, and publishers tried to come up with new ways to make us fear for the future of the industry, a barrage of great games kept being released at a delightful pace all throughout 2023."

Interesting list. Glad it isn't AAA driven.
