"opening the way for the regulator to examine Microsoft's new proposal for the acquisition of Activision Blizzard without going into adversarial litigation."

-So instead of bending the knee, right away like Jim Ryan, their gonna do non-"adversarial litigation." - yeah OK

"It is mine, I tell you. My own. My precious. Yes, my precious." -lol

Quote: The $68.7 billion deal needs approval in three key markets before it can go through: the US, the UK and the EU" -FCEverton

I don't believe it does. MS could simply choose not to operate in the UK if the CMA decided to block the deal still. Naturally that would never happen, but the CMA only has power in the territory it governs.

neomahi709d ago

Hm. This smells like and looks like a publicity stunt. It's like free marketing or something. What's their angle? There's something behind this we're not seeing but it smells like publicity stunt. Microsoft agrees to delay to make it seem CMA are doing their job better than the Americans and CMA makes sure and outs plans in place to embarrass the UKs very own whose the CEO of PlayStation and make him look bad and seem totally incompetent to save the CMAs image so they don't look like the FTC because the CMA was criticized by their own government telling them they wanted to be the new Silicon Valley of business on the world stage so, this is a stunt to save face and embarrass Jim Ryan on his home turf maybe to turn the UK from a PlayStation state into an Xbox one.

Who'd have thought the world respected Americans this much. To Americans, it seems the world doesn't like them thinking their smug, stupid, fat people that eat McDonalds and worship George Bush (I've seen the drawings of French middle schoolers (that were ironically wearing American brand clothing) but even Japan turned on their own in support of an American company. Goes to show that the stability of the American continent in the world economy is that important, that when it comes to business and money, especially if foreigners own stock in Microsoft, that's what it comes down to, not honor or anything like that, screw China and it's push to throw out the US dollar and replace it with Chinese pennies, United States rules the world and the world governments have spoken. Give it to the Americans, they dictate how we exist in the world, if they fall, zo do we. Now that's power. I guess Americans are George Bush worshipers, but the rest of the world gravel at Bill Gates nerdy adulterous feet, guess he really is the most powerful man in the world. World governments approved his acquisition, wow.

The CMA IS doing its job better than the FTC.

With a negotiating stance, they can get something. The FTC went in hard-nosed and got humiliated in front of the whole world, achieving nothing at all.

Lina Khan and her cronies seem to believe that by being trounced in court they can push congress to sign legislation in their favor, but that's not how it works.

Governments are approving this acquisition because it's perfectly legal. At this point, only console warriors and rabid, unhinged antitrust activists like Matt Stoller think it's a problem. It's called business.

PS: Bill Gates hasn't been involved with Microsoft since 2020.

Nintendo Switch 2 review

It’s definitely an upgrade, not sure about massive.

Grilla1h ago

It is massive compared to the switch 1. 6-10X the power, but compared to current standards it’s the bare minimum.

RedDevils1h ago

It's just a minor upgrade nothing special. Could have included the Oled screen but greedy Nintendo have something planned for it already.

Yesyes42m ago

Oled screen means nothing when people have OLED tv's.

Rage775m ago

You are self aware of how dumb and "sheepy" that tagline of "greedy" sounds like at this point in time, right?
Every little entitled twat on the internet has used it ad nauseum, as if all of a sudden you somehow struck gold or something. it ALMOST sounds as infantile as the other meme vomit brain rot: "Defending the billion dollar company, blah, blah" FFS. tell me its "irony" at least what you are trying to express, so at least i can give you some credit for being "clever" or bold. I refuse to believe you ACTUALLY believe what you are saying, unironically,

repsahj1h ago

Great review! We have almost the same impression of the Switch 2. I don't care if the screen isn't OLED, because when I put it next to my friend's Steam OLED screen, they barely deviated in quality.

anast27m ago

Better than the Steam Deck not as good as the other consoles on the market.

As someone who has been gaming nearly as long as gaming has been around (since the early 70's), you'd think I'd be against this. Having grown up with all the major platforms and the whole notion of physical ownership... but I'm not. i embrace this as it is a revolutionary convenience. And one i know for a fact many (especially here) have not even given the fair chance to use. I get it... i was there too. But now i have a new outlook on it. It really is a hell of an option if you just want to play with no commitments. By no means am i saying this should replace traditional gaming, its an option. And one that people should look at optimistically as a way to compliment traditional gaming. There is room for both to thrive.
