A judge listened to all the facts and not only did she NOT think it was bad for consumers, she actually concluded the deal was good for consumers, another higher appeals court agreed, 39 countries approved, soon the CMA will fold, so it seems the only people who swears this will ruin gaming are those out on PlayStation Island all alone by themselves.

The fight is over and Microsoft can now close the merger as early as 12AM PT Saturday. Microsoft will now own Call of Duty and former PlayStation/Naughty Dog mascot Crash Bandicoot. With the 360 Call of Duty servers being fixed the last couple days and the eventual Game Pass release of all CoD games, it will be interested to see the future of Call of Duty and what this means for PlayStation. If Sony puts all SE and Capcom games on PS Plus day one, and brings PS Plus to more platforms then I’m all for it. The thing about the Activision acquisition is it brings their games to more platforms than ever, and for a lower price. All these games on Game Pass will force Sony to improve PS Plus. Again if you believe MS will keep every Activision game multi then your living in a dream world. In the court case the contracts that MS got other companies to sign have a get out clause for MS if they deem having Activision games on other services is not making a certain aount of profit which wasn't mentioned then they could cancel the contract easily. MS aren't afraid to take a major dent financially if it meant them making money later.

Phil Spencer said in E-mails in the court case that from day 1 Bethseda games will all be exclusive with the exception of Deathloop and Tokyo Ghost Jungle. The case by case basis was a lie.

Also Sony will never put PS+ on other platforms just like MS will never actually put gamepass on PS nor Nintendo devices.

MS thinks that Activision will help them beat Sony in the gaming market but they are wrong it may help a bit but Sony has more staying power and I'm a Xbox fan first.

Between Microsoft and Embracer Group alone, the western gaming industry is not working towards a positive place. Your considering the entire gaming market to be one entity. Monopolies aren't determined by taking over the entire market. There are regional monopolies and they are vitally important not to overlook. Just look at ISPs for example. Comcast doesn't have a US wide monopoly, but they are absolutely the only choice for many if not all high speed internet options across multiple regions. What Microsoft is working towards is a western gaming market monopoly. They're very obviously trying to soak up all the major players based in the western market, and with the all but beyond certain acquisition of Activision, a major piece has been swept under their umbrella along with all their mid size to major acquisitions over these past few years.

Broadening the scope to minimize the impact has been a mistake so many have made across this entire process.

Actually no, I purchased most of mine well before Game Pass was even a thing. Personally GP grants me the ability to play newer games I typically wouldn’t purchase, which I’d call a win. Can’t wait to see how this turns out. I will not be buying an Xbox just for COD. Nothing else in this acquisition really moves the needle for console gamers. This is a very PC oriented deal at this point as Activision has fallen by the wayside outside of COD and most blizzard fans play on another platform.

If Sony turns around and grabbed capcom that would have a larger impact than this from a gamer perspective. It’s a good get for Microsoft from a money perspective however.

*eyeroll* It's been a long time since exclusives mattered. I'd say it really ended with the PS4 era.
What i mean by that is - splitting the budget in half to make, say, an N64 version and a ps1 version that look and play similar but not the same typically meant a lower quality game. Exclusives are cool to me cause they show what the hardware is capable of when catered to.
These days, the hardware is the exact same bloody thing with minor differences. PS5 vs Series X/S is just a stupid billion dollar corporation money battle and im so bored of it the meaningless drama around it all.

I wish Valve would make the Steam Deck concept into a console... and Sony would put their games on PC day one... and the PS5 and Series consoles are just refunded to everybody and we all play on the same platform with free online play. God that would be good.

Like I said before, this deal was always gonna go through. All Sony and the FTC could do was stall it as long as they could. This is a huge win for Microsoft and its fan base. This is only the beginning. Sony needs to be careful because Microsoft has the funds to do this as many times as they please. It's possible that Microsoft could buy Sony too if it votes down to it.
