Fans of other consoles knew the joyride would start coming to a close. And that services like XBL would be getting more worse to also push transition to game pass. Besides raising the price of game pass.

To Microsoft, giving you less but the consumer paying more, is considered more "value."

I can't remember it ever being a 1:1 conversion. If it ever was it must of been along time ago.

it was always 1 to 1 u buy gold then upgrade to ult even if it for 1$ it wil lconvert ur whole thing to ult

It always was if you didn't have GP. You could buy up to 36 months of Gold. Then you buy 1 month of UGP and it would convert all 37 months to UGP.

I'd imagine the price increases will negatively impact this conversion rate further, as well.

The hole as it stands puts game pass at just under 10$ per month (annually: 60$ for gold + $17 for one month gpu = 77$ for 9 months of gamepass). Not terrible but now requires some thought before actually purchasing.

You can get Gold for less than $40 a year pretty easily.

What I do is just buy 1 month ultimate codes on likes of cdkeys or other codes websites for between £3 and £4 a month. The catch is you can't stack them. You can only redeem one code at a time. Not a issue for me. Better than paying £11 a month.

If you're going to buy even 1 game that happens to be on gamepass it pays for itself. If you're going to pay for gold gamepass pays for itself. It's $10 for gamepass AND gold, most people have been paying $60 a year for gold for since Xbox 360. You can also buy up to 3 years and convert it with one month instead of doing it every year. You can also share your profile with a friend and split the cost in half.

It cost me $90 for 3 years of gamepass and Xbox live gold. I can honestly say the amount of money I saved literally covered my entire Series X purchase. There has never been value like this in gaming history. When it increases it increases, doesn't change the value I got in the past 3 years and I'm already set for the next 3 years. Can't remember the last time I actually bought a game.

Hey don't get me wrong, you're just exercising your power as a consumer but holy hell. How is that sustainable for xbox? I live in a 3rd world country and $90 is the cost of 1 game on launch day here!

This and reward points got nerfed even more... its not even worth it anymore before u could get enough for 1 month ult just from doing ur sign ins and so on now u cant even get close...

Well as soon as mine runs out I won't be renewing it again. I barely play Gamepass games now and the only reason I subscribed was because this method worked and wasn't too expensive. It makes no sense to me to pay more for Gamepass if the games that are on it are not games I like.

Ive played a few games I have liked in the 1 year 4 months ive been a subscriber, but not enough to continue it at a higher price.
