He did good imo but i completly disagree with the point of one of the best in the series. I'm guessing a the writer is barely in their 30 maybe 25 to 30. I'd also guess he hasn't played much of the series.

I genuinely think it's a good game so I hate to keep hating on it but it's annoying af to see it keep being lumped up there with the best of the series. I do have my nitpicks about it but it is what it is. It's far from it one of the best in the series. That's a pretty damn high bar and ff16 runs under it.

Elda678d ago (Edited 678d ago )

FFXVI has some flaws when it comes to the core/traditional aspects of FF but as it stands in this day in time it's still a good FF game. FF games has always been about evolving & now it is what it is when it comes to the next installment of FF which happens to be FFXVI.

shinoff2183678d ago

Idk why the disagrees but I do believe it's a good game and if you played the some of the older ones you wouldn't lump 16 up there with them imo. But it's a good game.

andy85678d ago

It's not better than the older ones, but when it's the best one in 20 years I guess you can give it some sort of a statement like that

repsahj678d ago

FF16 became my top 3 FF game, I think they did great with it. I'm ok with the change, it didn't happen for me in FF15 though.

MrNinosan678d ago

I'm 40, and started my Final Fantasy career with FFII (FFIV).
With favourites like FFVI, VII and X, XVI is absolutely one of the best of the series.
The way it tells the story, especially through sidequests is what's captivates me most, but also the gameplay, the music and the amazing bosses are on the best the series ever seen.

I don't understand why the age of 25-30 would be a bad thing thou.

VonAlbrecht678d ago

You're getting disagrees because you are passing an opinion as fact, while also making assumptions about people who are really enjoying the game.

You're just going to have to make peace with the fact that many people are really enjoying what CBU3 did with this mainline FF title - both old time fans and newcomers.

While the game is flawed, it delivers in ways we've never seen before in an FF game and I'm genuinely excited to see what happens from here.

I don’t think the title is referring to FF16, it’s talking about FF8 which he says was his first and favourite Final Fantasy game

If you are over 30 and still playing this series, you got some serious reevaluation to do.

luckytrouble678d ago

I don't get comments like this. Do you have games you define as being oh so worthy of adults? Do you gain anything in your life by judging what other people play? Comments like this aren't even a good troll; they're simply pathetic. Reminder if you don't have anything worth saying, save yourself and everyone else the time of reading whatever dreck you might be thinking of spinning out by just keeping your fingers still.

MrNinosan678d ago

I'm 40, have played Final Fantasy since mid 90, and right now playing one of the best games ever made.
Why would I need to "reevaluate" anything?

Elda678d ago

You need to reevaluate your comment.

BlaqMagiq1677d ago

This has to be the comment of a child because no actual adult would be dumb enough to make a comment like this.

StarkR3ality677d ago

Most OG fans of the series are over 30.. wtf is your point 😂

Ben Starr's favourite game is FF8, meaning the article agrees that Ben said it is his favourite and it is one of the underrated but best in the series.

MrNinosan677d ago

He doesn't say it the best, just that he had strongest relationship to it because it was his first Final Fantasy.

“FINAL FANTASY VIII. Ok, I’m going to qualify this – it doesn’t mean I hate all the other ones, or even that I think it’s the best – but it’s the one I have the strongest relationship with because it’s the first one I played. It’s the game that introduced me to this world, to this series."

-Foxtrot677d ago

FF8

Well, he has good taste at least

Was assuming he’d just default to FF7

MrNinosan677d ago

Well if you want to spin something, he doesn't say FFVIII is the best, but that it was the first one he played and therefore has strongest relationship with.

-Foxtrot677d ago

I didn’t spin anything

I just said he had good taste for playing it first and most it’s usually FF7.

Jesus. Take a chill pill

MrNinosan677d ago

Is the taste good, because it was the first game he played?

I played FFIV first, and therefore I have best relationship with that game.

Do you base my taste in games on FFIV?
