Yashwardhan writes, "Undawn succeeds in delivering a well-developed and well-structured survival post-apocalyptic mobile gaming experience. There was a void in the genre for a game to provide a holistic post-apocalyptic experience, while Undawn has some of its shortcomings and points to be worked upon."
Tencent Studios' latest zombie survival title, Undawn, is a case study in how to NOT release a big-budget game.
I feel weird just now learning about this game. But, I mean, looking at the trailer, what did they expect coming to the table with a game that looks like 100 other games that have over 5m downloads on Android alone already? And why waste Hollywood figure on a GaaS product for mobile? That's what you do for skins, not for the core game.
Never heard of this trash, let's see:
> Zombie game. Played out unoriginal generic concept - pass!
> Survival game. Over used ideas which are specifically designed to create filler and bloat game design, such as having to constantly re-acquire food or tools that break, weapons and armor that constantly needs upgrading or fixing - pass!
> Mobile game. Micro-trash-actions everywhere, forced wait timers, or pay us real money to remove the road blocks we created - pass!
Dude can't get roles on movies anymore so he turn to starring in games, and bad ones at that...
Undawn is an upcoming mobile/PC survival crafting game set in a post-apocalyptic future overrun by zombies. And Will Smith.
We have another zombie-survival game on the way in Undawn, but it sure has the star power and development chops to turn some heads!
