Dennis says, "The Legend of Heroes – Trails into Reverie is a brilliant finale serving nearly two decades of storytelling and worldbuilding."
“It's the end of another great year so it's time to celebrate the very best games of 2023; perhaps you'll discover something wonderful.” - A.J. Maciejewski from Video Chums.
Travis Bruno of Capsule Computers writes:
"When someone talks about a piece of media being basically impenetrable to newcomers, usually it involves a movie or book that is part of a long running series. That generally doesn’t happen when it comes to video games but if there was ever a game that would serve as the benchmark for continuous storytelling, it is The Legend of Heroes. For the most part, previous entries in the franchise may have been a way to step into the series in some regard but now with The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie all of that comes to a head in one final hurrah for a storyline that has spanned over the course of six large RPGs. Centering itself solely as an RPG for fans that have seen what the Cold Steel and Crossbell series has had to offer, does this culmination serve as a worthwhile send off to this immense cast of characters?"
VGChartz's Thomas Froehlicher: "The Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie is the all-star game of the series fans have been waiting for. Its extreme wealth of content, from the countless characters to the extreme combat and enjoyable mini-games, promises around a hundred hours of fun. It's just a shame the bizarre story produces more questions than answers, while also being dull most of the time. In the end, Trails into Reverie is an excellent bonus game in the Trails of Cold Steel arc, but struggles to advance beyond that."
I got 2 copies on the way. PS4 copy so I get the PSVR1 mode and a PS5 copy. It’s too bad they don’t have a PSVR2 mode instead of PSVR1 mode but they have limits to their budgets and already started the first mode.
