Why the PS Plus Monthly Games for July 2023 Need to Bring Out the Big Guns

Game Rant Writes "July 2023 would be a great time for the PS Plus Essential, Extra, and Premium tiers to stand out, at least for one reason."

Compare to Gold, they've had big guns out every month

jznrpg718d ago

Compared to gold they could win with a finger flick

MrNinosan718d ago

They have delivered, month after month, and last half year GamePass has not been close.

Sony doesn't need to change anything, to keep PS+ attractive.

luckytrouble718d ago

The only complaint still out there in force I would like to see addressed is justifying the value of the Premium tier. So far they are really doing the bare minimum when it comes to the new Premium tier games, well shown by the fact that they still have not put a single plain 'ol PS2 game up for offer.

Knushwood Butt717d ago

I haven't subbed to it as I don't have that kind of spare time, but the additional cost of Premium over Extra is pretty insignificant, especially if you are looking at an annual subscription.

raWfodog718d ago

The usual lull of game releases is the perfect time for me to catch up on my backlog. But it definitely sounds good for PS+ to offer good to great games during those periods.

Why when games with mol... i mean gold has been utter shit for the past 3 years.

Saw that Balatro got over 100000! Reviews on Steam. Crazy.

Only game from these three I care about is Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun since it seems to be a nice fps.

darthv7243d ago

boltgun is pretty damn fun... I have it on my steamdeck and it is crazy good.

DefenderOfDoom243d ago

I bought Warhammer Boltgun for the PS4. Very fun retro style FPS !

Damn, I thought the Until Dawn Remake was going to be one. Not a month for me.

S2Killinit42d ago

Pretty good month for me though. I would say great.

Tacoboto42d ago

The developer of the remake has already been effectively shut down, too.

Yui_Suzumiya43d ago

Boltgun is so much fun. I own it on Steam, PS4 and Switch (Physical). Beaten it so many times that I could probably get through it in my sleep, lol.

MaximusPrime_63d ago

Strange why people disagree with me. Probably they are illiterate or just fanboys who hates PS.

Anyway, the articles clearly said it and I just saved you a click. Thanks Moegooner for the list of countries

Mmmkay63d ago

Or maybe there is a difference between south America and Latin America..

With these reckless trade wars going on, expect videogames to keep getting more expensive.

babadivad63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

Switch prices were locked in before the Tarrifs. They just conveniently used the tarrifs as an excuse to calm outrage.

PSN is a digital service and isn't subjected to any kind of tarrifs.

They have been trying to find a way to increase the price for years.

Don't let them trick you into blaming tarrifs for corporate greed.

crazyCoconuts63d ago

When I look at Brazil, the increased price for PS Essential new users annually is equivalent to $61 USD, monthly is $7.50 USD. In the US it's more expensive. Just an observation that maybe they've been getting a better deal all along.

BeHunted63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

"Just an observation that maybe they've been getting a better deal all"

No, not every country has the same average salary as the United States. When releasing games and consoles, pricing should be based on the local economy and wages, which are often very different from those in the U.S

crazyCoconuts63d ago

"When releasing games and consoles, pricing should be based on the local economy and wages"
So companies should sell consoles at a large loss in impoverished countries?

Sony is run by imbeciles unfortunately

Zenzuu63d ago (Edited 63d ago )

In your own words.

*All are welcome to Switch 2. Microsoft Games Studios is interested in long term profits and market value not petty fanboy thoughts.*

Now, I'll change some of it.

Show us on the doll where sony touched you

anast63d ago

They have to keep up with Nintendo's prices.

Michiel198963d ago

yes they decided on this in a week, it can't be that they were planning it anyway, it couldn't have been. Not from your favourite company.

anast63d ago

It's strange. It's like you read the words, but you don't have the ability to understand them.

ARESWARLORD63d ago

I already find it to be a terrible value. Go ahead and up the price and 100% lose me.

andy8562d ago (Edited 62d ago )

Not saying a price increase is good but I'm paying £8 a month for access to 1000 games. That's absolutely not terrible value

ARESWARLORD60d ago

How many of those games are you actually playing
