No land vehicles, no problem, say Starfield fans

With Starfield set to release later this year, some fans aren't too concerned about the lack of land vehicles in the game.

People will rush out and buy this game then it'll be, oh. I wouldn't bother until they release a complete version. I played Cyberpunk after the update and it was pretty good on the PS5. Best to leave some games sweat for a few years, then jump in and play them.

Cockney718d ago

Nobody's buying this game, its day 1 gamepass

4Sh0w718d ago (Edited 718d ago )

True, this game will definitely push Gamepass subs...hell right here on sonyn4g I just saw another comment about just getting Gamepass for a month.

Personally that wont work for me, not only because all the Gamepass games I play here and there but because I think I'll be playing Starfield for years to come.

VincentVanBro718d ago

Plenty of people are buying this game. The pre order was the #1 selling game on steam for a week. Collectors edition is sold out. Sales will be great.

Rude-ro718d ago

Technically, they are buying access to it.
That is what subscriptions are.

I don’t think it will push subs on Xbox.

Abracadabra718d ago

The hate from Sony fanboys for this game is absurdly high. People should expect low scores from hateful fanboys reviewers to decrease Metacritic and Opencritic average...

While they hate, enjoy the game.

You must be new to the internet

Flewid638717d ago

Or maybe the game won't be good. Its ok to not like something....and I say that as someone who will be trying it on GamePass.

SimpleSlave718d ago

Remember to wait for the Unofficial Patch and at least wait after there's 100+ modes available. Especially those that add life to planets, vehicles, AI overhaul, combat overhaul, better followers, ENBs, better weather, graphics, etc. You know the deal. Wait until modders actually fix the Bethesdajank and make an average game at best into a must own.

This is a Bethesda game after all. Don't burn yourself buying it too early.

4Sh0w718d ago (Edited 718d ago )

Skyrim says hi, 96 metacritic score before mods ever touched it.

I'm a fan but I definitely have a problem with no vehicles, feels like a huge missed opportunity from the start....BUT wait???? Hell nah man do you know how many games I've had a blast playing from day 1 even though they were flawed. Totally different games but I still love Ryse: Son of Rome, -YES it was flawed, but still helluva experience.

Starfield is in a whole other *universe, lol pardon me, but if it's anything like Skyrim & Fallout 4 in space, then it's gonna be Epic even without mods, mods is just the icing on the cake later down the line. imo the only thing that can ruin Starfield (at launch) is if it's so buggy it's unplayable, that I can't tolerate. Otherwise day 1its Into the Starfield I go!

seanpitt23718d ago

What happens if starfield gets 7 on metacritic..

4Sh0w718d ago (Edited 718d ago )

Nothing it just gets a 7.

Reviews can be useful, *trusted reviews carry some weight with me but they don't dictate if *I enjoy game or not.

anast718d ago

Don't worry, those vehicles will be $LC.

SimpleSlave718d ago

I sincerely do not know what to say about this "Skyrim says hi, 96 metacritic score before mods ever touched it." thing. If I have to explain to you that a review is just an opinion and most of those opinions are payed for by ads, banners, preview parties, etc. Then we're in different realities you and I.

But let me push back on that anyways. Why not? I'm bored.

I bought Fallout 3 on the PS3 and it was broken. Even with Sony's help Bethesda couldn't even fix their broken mess. The save bug that made the game stuttered and unplayable was fun... Morrowind (Game of the Year Edition) on the original Xbox? Broken. There was a town that just tank the frame rate and crashed the system. Plus the game will crash or run out of memory fairly often. Especially the more you played. Skyrim on the PC? Broken. The first dragon wouldn't even give me his soul. Plus all the other Bethesdajank classics. You know them well if you actually play their games. Fallout on the PS4? Constant crashes. Fallout 76? lol...

I've been buying their games on a deep sale - got burned too many times - knowing full well what I'm getting into. No delusions, no Metacritic childish anything. I then mod their games - the true reason to buy their games and why they're so popular - so they run as well as possible. I'm talking from actual experience here. You? Well...

So, again, what do you want me to do with the whole "Skyrim says hi, 96 metacritic score before mods ever touched it" thing? I mean, reality says otherwise but whatever. IGN loved it so you it validated your love for the game I guess. If you really thought that was an actual argument, then, yikes. You got a long way to go.

Anyways, at the end of the day the game will be "Gamepass Day 1" for people like you so no big deal I guess. So good luck with that and all that jazz.

4Sh0w718d ago (Edited 718d ago )

"If I have to explain to you that a review is just an opinion"

-Oh here we go again, metacritic & reviews don't matter UNLESS I agree with them. lol, is that the best you got? pfft, If I had a nickel everytime I heard that one... Also to be clear it's not "a review" it's an average score from ALL the reviews, but once again ALL those opinions don't matter, lol just YOURS? Actually yes your does, its the most important one but only to you, as it should be. -But Maybe, just maybe one day you'll grow up & stop to consider that just because it was "broken" for you, maybe for myself & others we didn't have a bad experience, some annoying a** bugs in tons of hrs of gameplay yes but overall, alot of fun was had, thus the great scores & fond memories. So the point is that you came here to tell people to wait based on your opinion that the game will be garbage until it gets modded. You have every right to that opinion just like I have every right to disagree with that sentiment because I myself have played past Bethesda games too, yes buggy, but yes still so much fun even without mods. I dont know why my disagreement makes you so angry. I pointed out the score to show I'm not the only one who thought so too.....but go on & tell me how liking Skyrim in 2011 was all just another Microsoft illuminati conspiracy 'cause we all know your opinion must be the only one that matters.

Edit: I mean look at Vincent below, another illuminati member exposed, lol

SimpleSlave718d ago

Next time use paragraphs cuz you sounds like the one with the conspiracy theory problems here. What with all that ramblin' and what not.

Again, YOU brought up the Metacritic argument not me. So that's ALL on you pal. I personally don't care for games review...if you haven't picked up on it yet. All I need is to watch some gameplay videos to see if the game is to my liking and if it actually work and it's not Gollum broken. Read what the game is about and decide. Simple. Not foolproof but honest.

Listen to this. While I play mostly on Sony's console I think The Last of Us and the Uncharted series are average at best, mediocre most of the time. And while I really enjoyed the new God of War series I do not agree it should've started Kratos at all. Metacritic Score for those games? lol...Who knows and who cares? You? Apparently...

But here, let me be even more simple with you so you can finally get it. I BUY and ENJOY Bethesdajank games. Sure, after heavy modding, but that's just me being realistic and not drowning in fanboydom like you are. In fact, if I ever get an XBOXSX I'll be one of those that actually buy the physical edition. Why? Cuz I'm a masochist.

So move on and grow up. You have nothing new here but just some old trite fanboyist excuse. Meh.

4Sh0w718d ago

"Again, YOU brought up the Metacritic argument not me."

-No shiii Sherlock, it's called a counter argument, the most effective way to do so is by using research, facts or something other than ones own opinion that support your position instead re-stating what I think vs what you think over & over again.

lol, Imagine owning a ps5 & not an Xbox but losing an argument so badly that you're reduced to calling some of ps best exclusives "medicore" and oh if you buy a Xbox you'd buy "Bethesdajank" physical copy because you're a "masochist" lol, I bet you thought that sounded so cool, nope, just clown-ish but go on because I've wasted enough of my time with this nonsense.

sadraiden717d ago

Skyrim was jank af on launch. Fanboys and hype beasts rushed to get their reviews out and everyone wanted to shower it with praise. It's a great game outside of the jank, but 96? Not on launch bucko.

It's now been 12 years since skyrim came out. We expect a progressively more sophisticated RPG.

Zombieburger638717d ago

Skyrim was a shit show what are you smoking? Mods are still needed even after 15 different re-releases from bugthesda.

F0XH0UND922717d ago

Dude's gonna be so upset when the game gets crushed with reviews lol

Othegamer5717d ago

@simpleslave lol saying a 96 meta score doesn't matter and is made up or whatever is the biggest cope I've seen. Skyrim is legendary and was legendary at launch. and is massively appreciated in gaming a few fanboys wont change that. cry in the car.

VincentVanBro717d ago

Careful, you got a lot of haters after you for pointing out the most obvious truth lol this dev has an almost perfect track record outside of fo76. Odds are Starfield will be awesome, haters be damned 😁🤙

I’ve never in my life regretted buying an elder scrolls game early, jank included. Hell in Oblivion & Skyrim it was half the fun

I find it hilarious that there are actual Starfield "fans" when nobody's played a second of the game yet.

Godmars290718d ago

More like those aware of Bethesda's and MS reputations for releases.

sadraiden717d ago

You've never been doubtful of a game's quality before launch? Do I have some sort of super power that told me that Redfall was going to be trash? No. It looked like trash at E3, the trailers looked trash, and it was reviewed accordingly.

Everything they've shown us of Starfield makes it look like they've spent 5-6 years building a large sandbox with no sand in it.

Godmars290718d ago

I was similarly confused about the first Overwatch well before it launched. There was even a in person convention level fan event I believe.

I mean, Blizzard obviously organized and held it, but still.

shinoff2183718d ago

As a fan of fallout, and of sci fi. I just know I'll enjoy it. Some games you just tell if you'll like. I don't play with reviews and such things. I use my eye test and if something seems not so sure I look it up further.

While the topic about land vehicles not being there makes me think bethsada wasn't truly done with the game, but ms just has to release something big. It's still not a deal breaker. As a ps fan I'm rather annoyed that Sony has nothing , no rpg, wrpg, jrpg in development. Meanwhile ms just bought up have the wrpg developers.

No one gives a crap about Starfield in 2025. I mean seriously, has anyone remembered this game even exists? Lmao

Alos8815d ago

They really aren't. Nothing in Starfield is nearly as iconic as anything from Fallout.

Putte14d ago

Who is even playing Starfield? That was a major let down.
