Xbox Game Studios head Matt Booty says the first party teams are aware that the expectation going forward will be to showcase gameplay for their titles.
Stellar Blade arrives on PC and the results are, well, stellar.
Sony’s PS5 era has generated over $13 billion in profits, surpassing the combined earnings of PS1–PS4, with $136 billion in sales.
Their recent Playstation revenue is also more than Xbox and Switch combined, obviously in large part due to 3rd party sales.
And this is why the game output for ps5 has been a tad slower…
1) they needed to be… games take longer to develop, and they’d burn out their teams trying to maintain the same pace as ps3.
2) they can afford to… games cost more than ever to push boundaries, so Sony had to figure out a way to match Xbox’s clever profit strategies in order to afford to continue to innovate and take risks.

Thats xbox which includes other services. The playstion division also includes other services as well. Its mostly playtion but not all playstation. What's up with all the double standards around here.
Only because of games prices otherwise it’s the worst generation in PlayStation history especially for games
The tour is coming to the states as new dates have been revealed.
So early 2025 then, why even show SoD at the series S/X console reveal event then ? That's a joke tbh making out the games at the reveal event were like 2 years away to get you to buy a Xbox when in reality it has took them 3 years plus to release anything.
Lol ok. So are gta 6 and two dozen other games people are looking forward to more than these.
Those games are still 2 years away from being released? Smh.
Why would you show State of Decay as early as they did? I thought this game was 2024 at worst…. Now it’s 2025 confirmed
This is one of the many major differences between Sony and Nintendo versus Microsoft. You’ll see a Sony showcase or a Nintendo one and think “wow that’s it?” When in reality those are games coming out within the next 6 months or so. There may be ONE or TWO year or more out games in there but those are usually blockbusters and usually just a year out. Final Fantasy 16 (which if you hadn’t played the demo you’re nuts), Spider-Man 2 (the first time it was shown about a year ago), Wolverine for example… Nintendo does the same with Zelda, Xeno games, Splatoon 2. When you found out about the game it was almost complete.
Microsoft is perfectly fine with using showcases and such as a chance to sell eventualities. They sold the Xbox one on the power of the cloud. Eventually it would be 2 or more times as powerful. People in chats and forums would argue for the cloud and its impending impact.
Sony will ALWAYS have quality first party games in the pipe. You literally never know what they might show. Every game they sold you a PS5 with trailer wise and sizzle reel wise has come out long ago. How has Microsoft competed with that? Showing trailers. Then at the next event a few more trailers of the same games. Then at the next event a few more trailers of the same game but this time with a snippet of gameplay and still no dates. (But somehow they’re given a pass). I’ve had my series X since day one and the only games that came out that Microsoft tried to sell the system on is Halo infinite and Forza. Everything else was obviously so far from completion that you have to wonder, why show it? Hell, I forgot about Redfall, but talk about mismanagement. If they had not bought Zenimax and acquired what they already had in the works the X wouldn’t even have that. (Or HiFi as it was a shadow drop) Point is clear though, Microsoft will tell you ANYTHING and show you ANYTHING to get you invested. You’ll get what you came for…. Eventually.
