PS5 vs PS3 Sales Comparison - April 2023

April 2023 is the 30th month the PlayStation 5 has been available for. In the latest month, the gap grew in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the PlayStation 3 by 0.85 million units.

In the last 12 months, the PS5 has grown its lead over the PS3 by 8.03 million units. The PlayStation 5 is currently ahead by 15.22 million units.

Not sure why you would want to compare PS3 against PS5 sales (still it is statistics) when it would be more interesting to compare PS4 against PS5 sales (vgchats has done this. Thanks for the link) and their stats (ie. price, games, etc) considering the PS4 is still available and the PS5 is backwards compatible for PS4 games.

Actually I would be fully infavor as would many readers of being able to insert a PS3 game disk in my PS5 and have the PlayStation store install the PS4/PS5 version (if one exits) to the PS5's storage device (inbuilt SSD or external USB disk).
