Dlls here dlss there and fsr is all over the place.

In my days a gpu rendered the native resolution never needed a cane to work right.

The resolution and games got way more crazy looking and more demanding .. what can we do 🤷‍♂️

Get new gpus that do not have 4-6yr old tech inside of them?

The new 40series on the low end 50/60/70 is using small memory bus and gddr6 vram from 2018
https://investors.micron.co...

The amd cards are also doing the same unless you go to there higher tier spec small memory bus gddr 6 except all there cards are using the old gddr6 vram.

2020 us when gdr6x vram was tossed out

For over $300 usd we should not see new graphic cards with tech from over 4yrs ago.

Oh and last year they announced new graphics ram chip so techically we are getting graphic cartds brand new with 3 generation old tech inside of them
https://www.pcgamer.com/sam...

So yeah thanks to all this fsr dlls crap we get cards that are kneecapped by old tech when they can have better components that can run resolutions natively.

I assume in 5-10 years GPUs will finally get powerful enough to run ray tracing that is good enough to care about but right now it's a huge detriment to gaming. It adds barely anything to the game, it tanks performance, and resources are wasted on the GPU to run it. Imagine how much better rasterization performance we could get if the money and space used for RT cores were used to increase the shader count.

Its not the hardware its the games right now new pc games have dlss that is for 20 series.

2042 actually had version 1.0 dlss that killed performance the cards were fine but internally it never fully used all your rt cores unless you had a 20series card.

If the game had the latest version of dlls/ray tracing etc then said performance would be alot better.

There is actually homebrew patches for games that get better ray tracing by updating said dlls/data files.

Funny thing is right now anyone with a new amd card 7000 series is leaving performance on the table because amd has yet to toss out fsr 3.0 and full rdna 3.0 drivers those cards just hanging out waiting for tech they was shown off a year ago.

Just like to add i posted this as in the ray tracing is hard to run

Hardware is weak this gen do too old tech inside of them but the games could also be using new version of software it would help alot

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8GB Founders Edition GPU Review

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 8 GB GPU is a solid mid-range contender with impressive efficiency, DLSS 3 support, and good performance, but for those with an RTX 3060, it may not be a big enough jump for the $399 price of entry.
