So we're not 100% sure if it'll just be using old voice lines, or if VA's are reprising roles for updated audio. Either way, it'll be great having David back for Snake! I honestly thought Keifer did a good job, but it just wasn't the same without the original. I can't wait to see that last fight in modern graphics. It's still one of the most beautiful things I've seen in gaming.

MADGameR121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

It is said that they will all be reprising their roles because there was an article about 2+ years ago stating that the original MGS voice cast was ''working on an unknown project''

LightofDarkness121d ago

That’s good, means we have around 2 years of dev time already committed.

PhillyDillyDee121d ago

Thank you… honestly it was my biggest fear for the game.

I_am_Batman121d ago

Then you have more faith in Konami than I do. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to hear that they're keeping the voices, but there's so many other ways they could potentially ruin this remake. Hopefully more information about the project gets released in the upcoming days and weeks. Right now it's kinda hard to know what to expect.

PhillyDillyDee121d ago

Lol i never said i had faith. But this is good news either way

Nebaku121d ago

Even IF they have a good team doing it, they should have remade 1 or 2 first.

The fact they are jumping straight to the most "acclaimed" one in 3, reeks of desperation to try and get fans back on their good side.

I_am_Batman121d ago

I'm just saying out of all the things that could potentially go wrong with this project, a change of VAs wouldn't top the charts for me. But yeah it is good news. Let's hope this trend continues.

PhillyDillyDee121d ago

Thats fair. Honestly all i really wanted was david hayter

If only we can get Metal Gear Solid 4

GoodGuy09121d ago

The mgs collection had a "vol 1" title to it. Likely meaning vol 2 will consist of 4+5+peacewalker.

Sonic1881121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

I thought part 4 was difficult to remaster because of the PS3 Cell processor? They should actually remake that game in the future

Infamous298121d ago

I think Vol 2 will likely include portable ops, peace walker and mgs4.

sadraiden121d ago

What about Metal Gear Solid 1? Why are they remaking 3?

Terry_B121d ago

Because it is the most popular and probably also the best game of the series.

MaxiPower90121d ago (Edited 121d ago )

It's arguably the best in the series but more notable is that it is the origin story of Snake and thus the easiest to market to a new generation hence why they cut the number from the title. And as 3 was a more ambitious game than say the 2d or mgs(ps1) onwards then it sets a standard of quality that should be aimed to be achieved in future remakes.

Personally, I would have preferred a reboot rather than these high-quality remakes.

Now the series is finished they can actually tell a story from start to end without reconning every few games

I wonder if they will remove the load screens? I kind of hope they do.

"In addition, the game will likely lack the bizarre charm, humor, and depth that can only be found in games that Kojima himself worked on."

If its a remake that stays loyal to the source material how is this an issue?

Kojima cultists are wacky

jznrpg97d ago

If they change the script that’s where they would f up big time. They would be stupid to do that

Try not to pivot from the smartest enemies ever to zombies.

More Metal Gear Solid Delta Remakes Would Have an Obvious Direction to Go In

If Konami decides to develop more Metal Gear Solid Delta remakes the franchise would have an obvious direction to go in after Snake Eater.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater Has the Perfect Chance To Follow Up on a Major Revelation

With a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 on the horizon, game developers have a chance to tie in one of the series' biggest narrative reveals.

Syphos103d ago

Just remake the game, don't add anything I don't trust Konami to change anything and pull it off properly at the same time.

So no thanks :>

God no, the studio in charge of this has made 2 games so far both of which were awful. I dont want these people to be rewriting anything. Just give us better visuals/controls and thats it.

Abear21103d ago

Giant snakes hiding in caves, this was the scariest part of the game, think I’ll pass on this one bc I can’t take that jump scare again l. 100 serious

Not a good idea, and here's why:

- This is a medium budget remake, its going to be as close to 1:1 as possible from the PS2 game. This isn't a re-imagining like FF7 or RE 2 / 3 / 4. This is cheap-ass Konami, not actually willing to add much budget to their games, but only willing to go so far as to profit off nostalgia and not much more.

- The game is using the PS2-era voice acting, so adding new dialog or lore would feel out of place with the old recordings from 2003 - 2004.

- Changing the cut-scenes and the lore by adding new characters who don't belong in the background is absurd.

- This doesn't even make sense for a forward-progressing linear game. Only a few locations do you return to, you're not going to see the clean-up crew for most of the game anyway.

- Its a bad idea, the clean-up crew most likely arrived AFTER the mission was complete (and Snake flew away on the MIG), they're not actually tailing Snake throughout the entire freakin' mission. That's just a stupid concept all around.
