Select/Start Games: Fable 2 Review

Select/Start Games writes:

"Fable 2 hurts me. There are a bunch of things I hate about it, but for some reason, I just haven't been able to put the controller down and walk away. Should you buy it? That all depends on a few things..."

"...Bottom line, should you buy it? If you have time on your hands and like fantasy games, the answer is yes. But don't expect a revolutionary break through in gaming technology."

The game's been out over 2 MONTHS...

Figboy5582d ago

doesn't matter.

there are still plenty of people that have yet to pick up this game, or even a 360. they could stumble across this review, and it may help them make up their minds.

i've never complained about reviews that come late. i don't see the point. it is what it is.

maybe it's because there hasn't been much released in the past month, and titles like Resistance 2, Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, and more are games we feel the urge to express our opinions on.

besides, at least this story is talking about a GAME, and not the constant "doom and gloom" for XXX console that we've been seeing across N4G for the past, oh, two weeks.

but that's just me.

we have a Resistance 2, Fallout 3, Mirror's Edge, and more reviews in the pipeline as well. better late than never, right?

Used to love this one, but X-Men Legends 1 and 2 will always be my favorites, especially Rise of Apocalypse. Would pay some good money to play it today with online multiplayer, back then I had no way to get a modem

I remember buying them dirt cheap on the PS4 and then a few days later I read they were delisted. I was wondering why the bundle was price so low and got my answer when that happened.

Sad to say this is one game franchise next to the Xmen that needs a sequel. I use to play the hell out of Xmen Legends and Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Was great when my cousin had the OG Xbox play with four other people and then playing online. Great games glad to see it reappear even though I own the discs love the mechanics of this game.

Terry_B54m ago

It got a sequel..but for dumbass #reasons as a switch exclusive.

shinoff218349m ago

It looked so horrible to. They should've kept it similar to the first two.

Asplundh34m ago

Because Nintendo funded it, they did the same for Bayonetta.

Knightofelemia16m ago

I totally forgot about the Switch sequel.

jukins45m ago

Misleading. This page is whats available for people who owned the game prior to delisting.

The first game was the best imo.

It's A Crime That There's No Sleeping Dogs 2 Yet

Huzaifah from eXputer: "Sleeping Dogs from the early 2010s is one of the best open-world games out there but in dire need of a resurgence."

LG_Fox_Brazil4d ago

I agree, I consider the first one a cult classic already

isarai3d ago

You say "yet" as if it's even possible anymore. United Front Games is gone, along with anyone that made this game what it is

CrimsonWing693d ago

That’s what happens when games sell poorly. And I’ve seen people wonder why people cry when a game sells badly… this is your answer.

solideagle3d ago

Majority of the time it's true but if a company/publisher is big (in terms of money), they can take a hit or 2. e.g. I am not worried about Rebirth sales as Square will make Remake 3 anyway but if FF 17 doesn't sell then Square might need to look for alternative. <-- my humble opinion

Abnor_Mal3d ago

Doesn’t Microsoft own the IP now since they acquired Activision?

DaReapa3d ago

No. Square Enix owns the IP.

Abnor_Mal3d ago

Oh okay, Activision owned True Crime, but when that didn’t sell as intended it was canceled. Six months later Square Enix bought the rights and changed the title to Sleeping Dogs.*

Sleeping Dogs was a sleeper hit back then. It was fantastic. It actually still is. Would love a sequel to this, or at least a revive of True Crime series.
