Callum writes: "Each Redfall mission feels like a half-finished jigsaw. The gunplay is sluggish, unchallenging, and disappointing.
It doesn’t help when most encounters with enemies expose issues with Redfall’s AI. Whether it’s being obstructed by furniture while chasing you, or simply not noticing the sniper bullet you left in their friend’s head, enemies in Redfall are not engaging, reactive, or smart. It ruins the immersion entirely.
I wanted to love Redfall, but after plenty of hours spent in the lonely town of Redfall, disappointment now replaces my initial excitement. Let’s just hope this isn’t the final nail in the coffin for Arkane.
Shoddy performance, sluggish gunplay, and a boring story have left me drained – just like the victims of the town."
Pete Hines has said Bethesda is not a company to "quit or abandon stuff just because it didn't start right" when speaking on Redfall's launch.
Oh of course completely believe him. I'm sure the next big update for elder scrolls blades is just around the corner and the promised ps5/series/pc and VR release is so close.
