All these articles are borderline spamming N4G at this stage, especially being insta-approved and pinned every time. Why not let the gamers decide what to approve, when and how much attention each deserves?

I do agree that the creativity is pretty amazing - and the game is great - but wouldn't it be better to give it a month and do a video montage, so that we get something of substance? I used to enjoy those articles for Dreams, Little Big Planet, Minecraft, etc. where they'd provide updates as to what the clever clogs community had created since the last update. Often mind-blowing stuff!

That said - this one's particularly cool lol

It’s a fun game with lots of exciting and creative things to do. It’s what games are meant to be. I don’t even own the thing but it reminds me of being young, telling all my friends about the weird stuff I’d discovered the night before in GTA or whatever.

The rest of this week’s news is “insert AAA live service game is screening its fanbase over.” Remember Redfall? That game came out a week ago and was nothing but disappointing news. Overwatch 2 and Ubisoft are in the bad books for live service crap right now.

The reason why so many people are hot on the subject is because it IS the subject, if that makes sense? 🙂

SullysCigar757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

I wish that was true, but it's not. The game deserves attention and I totally agree it's nice to see good news after the constant downers of late, but look at the front page right now - Zelda HUGE sales SHOT to the front page on merit, because that's a big news story that nintendoeverything.com are sharing. It's been noticed because it's a big deal.

These stories are being noticed because they're being pinned in place, subverting other stories and pushing these ones to the forefront. It's been like this for days now: nothing story gets immediate 10 approvals from one account (so presumably admin rights), gets pinned in place atop the feed and everyone clicks on it assuming it's a big deal, because that's what pinning used to mean.

Before, only things like Nintendo direct live feed would be pinned, or E3. Now it's (and no, I'm not making this up!) "User creates fire-breathing penis in Zelda" LOL

@Sully
Hey now that article was pretty funny, leave the fire breathing penis be.

@SullysCigar

Yet we have a ton of consecutive articles about how terrible MS is. Repetitive as it gets, with the same comments over and over again.

These type of articles are about the fun of gaming. It’s cool you can do this in the game. Glad to see some positive news.

melons757d ago

it's cos the same people who own N4G also own VideoGamer...

SullysCigar757d ago

I know, but it's frustrating, because articles that people are actually interested in are held back down the list and these pinned articles show overinflated interest thanks to being held in view. That's not a true reflection of the news people want and unfortunately clicks/money is getting in the way of the news and the system.

These are essentially advertisements for the website and, for me, it goes against what N4G has always stood for, i.e. news 'by gamers, for gamers'. Just my view.

343_Guilty_Spark757d ago

That explains the lack of quality curation.

-Foxtrot757d ago

Still

The whole point of this site is users approving articles

If this was any other game they’d get marked as “Lame”

You know how many creations you could pull from Minecraft, Terraria and the like? That’s all we’d see.

Interesting seeing you complain about TotK articles (which it deserves because it’s such a fun and rich game) but you’re fine with a million articles constantly bashing Xbox and usually for the same thing over and over again.

SullysCigar757d ago (Edited 757d ago )

Interesting that you're missing the point completely. Wait, no it's not. That's standard. Just like how you've brought poor Xbox into a Nintendo article. Standard.

EDIT: My apologies, I didn't actually address your point. Those articles are submitted though the usual process. They're approved if the community is interested. They're not pinned to gain traction and they live or die on merit. Sometimes we may not like them, but the community decides whether or not they want to click. This seems like a good place to discuss this and understand how others feel about whether this change is positive or negative. Take your time with my words, digest them and understand the difference. Let's not make it about console wars.

I'm totally being "that guy", but it's cannon, not canon.

Tal169757d ago

Oh no! But is it Zelda cannon?

Dude... just imagine the things people will be making in a year. This game is going to just improve more and more over time. Can't wait to see what future DLCs add to the mix.

The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom (Switch 2) -A Sublime Sequel, Now Sublimer| NintendoLife

"When all's said and done, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition is a fantastic revamp of perhaps Nintendo's most sublime sequel. What was once a technical marvel on aged hardware now has a chance to truly shine, with visual and performance boosts undoubtedly making it the definitive way to play.

Nothing will ever match the feeling of playing it for the first time, of course, and some bonus content would have been welcome, but armed with Zelda Notes and the promise of buttery smooth upgrades, I'd challenge anyone to dip back in without losing hours to its unrivalled wonder." - Jim Norman | NintendoLife

I argue that simple res/FPS bumps should be free, and then you can charge $10 if it includes actual extra content. That seems to be what has been settled on.

Many PS4 games got free upgrades for PS5 when just increasing res/FPS. Days Gone, for example, got a free FPS bump to start the generation. Now it's getting a "remaster", improved visuals/extra modes/content for $10.

I know they have *some* free upgrades - though we don't know what they entail - but the Zelda games just seem like they know they can get money from eager new buyers, so why not. Zelda Notes doesn't quite seem to justify $10, but hey, let us choose. Make it a $10 app, and give the res/FPS upgrades for free.

Weird the Jamboree pack being 20 with no new boards or minigames for party mode, way to miss the mark. Minigame variety is seriously lacking for the party mode compared to superstars, my biggest issue with the game, think I'll pass on that.

I wonder if there will be supply issues (unable to find the system). Interesting that they are launching in the middle of the year as well.

gold_drake46d ago

some of these are abit pricey.
like why?

neutralgamer199245d ago

It's Nintendo they know they can get away with it. Bits that simple

Dhika45d ago

Why the differences in prices?
