cheat seller: 12 mllion!? got to be cheating me!!

Jin_Sakai364d ago

He won’t cheat his way outta this one.

Ryuk_2007365d ago

Soo.. are we gonna be getting articles about how bungie ruined this guys life like we did nintendo?

phoenixwing365d ago

I think it's only fair play to do so. Not doing so would be a cheat of sorts..lol

BehindTheRows364d ago (Edited 364d ago )

Sooooo.... lets look at the key differences...

The guy wasn't just released from jail, still runs a website for cheating that earns him money, and doesn't owe anywhere near as much.

ModsDoBetter364d ago

Pathetic attempt at moving goalposts. 🤷‍♂️

BehindTheRows364d ago (Edited 364d ago )

@oIMyersIo

I'm happy to hear your explanation for how a goalpost was moved. One situation is NOT THE SAME as the other. Either you're totally oblivious (based on your history, I'm inclined to take this route), or you don't know how this stuff works. You should try reading the article.

--Onilink--364d ago

It’s practically the same amount, 12 vs 14.5…

The fact that he was released from jail is basically irrelevant, he went to jail because of said crime. Doing part of the sentence shouldn’t suddenly absolve you from the rest of what the court decided

BehindTheRows364d ago (Edited 364d ago )

@olMyerslo

As usual, nothing but hot air and petty insults. I’ll converse with Onilink since he doesn’t lack the capacity to actually have an adult discussion, particularly as you refuted absolutely nothing I said.

@—Onilink—

It’s not irrelevant, because much of the outrage was as a result of him having to pay up even after serving a jail sentence. Essentially, being punished twice. In this situation, the guy continues to make money and his life isn’t totally wrecked as a result. Plus, he still runs a cheating website.

I see the correlation you’re making, but a little perspective is needed.

Pot…meet…kettle, anyone?
All you do is deflect & mock - you’re projecting hard, my guy.

Have an adult discussion 😂
You’re incapable of holding one yourself, sweetheart.

If he made 12 million off said cheats and the money can be realistically recovered it's fair game.

If he made a much smaller amount and has no realistic chance of repaying the 12 million it's overkill.

While I have no love for cheaters ruining someone's life over cheating and to send a message to other potential cheat creators is not reasonable.

GoodGuy09363d ago

Well Id prefer a guy providing cheats for an online game, which actually ruins both the consumer and companies' experience to get it worse than a guy that does piracy that only affects the companies.

ABizzel1362d ago (Edited 362d ago )

I’m usually against this degree of crazy, however, logistically they provided the exact reason as to why they’re suing for so much. The damages are $2,000 per cheat sold (and with over 5,000 that’s $11 million), copyright infringement, attorney fees, the additional $2 million Bungie had to pay to implement anti-cheat software, employ people to prevent cheating, etc….

So as terrible as this is for the individual, logistically Bungie is entitles to every penny of it. Moreso to the point, the cheater / scammer has learned nothing as he still had his sight up still with Destiny 2 cheats up until the lawsuit which means he was potentially already served a cease and desist and still kept doing it, and even after the lawsuit he has cheats for several games still up….I guess he has to try to pay it back some kind of way.

In the case of Nintendo, it doesn’t matter what it is, or what it does, they’re trying to end it, and they’re not wrong to sue someone for damages. It’s just their image of being happy family friendly company, does not align with sue the hell out of any and everyone because they might have the faintest association with something Nintendo. They just go to far sometimes, but in the case of Bowser, they’re in the right as horrible as it is for the guy.

Probably now slaves to bungie as a game dev rn idk

37Anon364d ago

What's funny is that Bungie has most likely made a fortune from years of banning cheaters and letting them rebuy the game with new accounts.

badz149363d ago

Oof! Why would you even think selling cheats for an online game was a good idea, anyway? Cheats for offline game is fine all yhings considered but Destiny or any online game for that matter? You're just looking for trouble

"the capital group of PCF Group S.A."

If you're getting funding from a group that needs two different ways of Acronyming itself, things will not go the way you want them to.

banger881d 2h ago

If it was more online-only crap then good riddance.

jjb198112h ago

Outriders was crap. They slapped that game together and threw in a loot system to get players' attention. This game was absolutely jank and the always online nonsense made it stutter like crazy. People Can't Optimize.

thorstein11h ago

I liked Outriders but I could see where the artistic vision was compromised. The way the industry is now, it wouldn't surprise me that upper management would scrap something that didn't pull in money via gaas, mts, or other means.

Escape from Tarkov Unheard Edition Reneges on Promised Content Behind $250 Price Tag

The new Escape from Tarkov Unheard Edition has the community in an outrage after promising exclusive access to the new PvE mode for $250 USD.

$250? Do they not know all the other games that already exist or will be made in the future that can do similar?

SimpleDad17h ago(Edited 17h ago)

This is for the hardcore people that have 2500 h in the game. They basically play that one game the whole year.
Oh and those same people are mad as hell at this... what a way to reward fans of your game and annihilate newcomers.

Read a comment earlier calling it a "special monetization operation." I had to chuckle at that.
