Well I promise I will wait at least 12 weeks to buy it . Somewhere around July I’m guessing is when I’ll have the time after finishing the games I have and am going to buy. Maybe August at the latest .

Didn't help it had issues at launch

Guess people are starting to put their foot down Star Wars or not.

phoenixwing51d ago

I haven't bought it for that reason

-Foxtrot51d ago

Same

I just couldn't

I'll play it, obviously, it's Star Wars and I enjoyed the first one but there's plenty of games out at the minute so I'll buy it when it goes cheap.

phoenixwing51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Same going to pick it up when it's dirt cheap. Which I wouldn't have done if it was OK performance wise

PixelOmen51d ago

Just at launch huh? lmao.

FinalFantasyFanatic51d ago

Doesn't it still have issues? I think it's only just gotten to a barely playable state on the Steam Deck, I think I'd worry about them getting it to run at a satisfactory level on the PS4/Xone.

I kind of wanted to get it, but after hearing all the issues people had, I didn't really want to pay for it without a deep discount.

scorpio_204951d ago

I didn’t get it because of that too. Now I’m content just waiting until I can get a used copy for dirt cheap.

I’m waiting for it to be fixed on PS5. I was planning on getting it this month but I got Remnant 2 and Armored Core 6 is on the way so I may wait a little longer now. I will definitely get it at some point though

Profchaos51d ago

At this point I just don't think it's fixable

Shane Kim51d ago

What issues does it have? I played it just fine.

ravens5251d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Ok, I don't like this. Don't present a game as current gen only but then go-ahead and make it for last gen. Where are the games that can't run on last gen hardware? Lies. Wtf.

What's the point of having a PS5 or XSX!? Really annoying.

darthv7251d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Just an FYI... there is no game currently that cant be made to run on previous hardware. The main upgrade that 9th gen offers is fidelity. All the finer details, ray tracing reflections/shadows... it all adds to the fidelity. Resolution and framerate are not the end all be all that people make them out to be.

So... there is no reason this game cant come to last gen. Its just a sequel to the previous. It wont have the same fidelity but it certainly can run on last gen.

FinalFantasyFanatic51d ago

It might run badly like the attempt to run some high performance games on the Switch, it hasn't run the best on the Steam Deck. The Steam Deck is somewhere between the base & Pro versions of a PS4 in terms of performance, so I don't see this game running well unless they can make some more performance improvements.

Rainbowcookie51d ago

Darth I don't think that is fully true. Id like to see Ratchet Clank ps5 run on a ps4...not gonna happen. It's not just fidelity.

Amplitude51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Man this is gonna be a funny one on par with those massive Switch ports that just don't work. Gonna guess something like 480p reconstructed and an unstable 30fps hovering around 25.

@darthv72
There's quite a lot of games released for PS5 that absolutely would never in a million years work on the PS4 without some major changes that would majorly change the game, but there's very very very few. Ratchet, Returnal, The Horizon DLC.
I'm not some weirdo Playstation fanboy but with the Series S' existence, it is legitimately only the top notch Sony exclusives lol. The architecture between the two machines are extremely similar to one another (both consoles are basically custom designed SOC PCs), most games get a PC release, PC releases *need* to be scalable to lower hardware, and thus you can then usually scale down a PS5 game to play on a PS4, albeit looking and playing worse or even unplayable depending on your tolerance.

The point of having a PS5 or XSX is simply because you want to play games at a steady framerate, a higher resolution, better graphics all around, better audio, etc. It's not like the PS4 version of Star Wars is gonna be the exact same game as PS5 lol there's gonna be some hilarious cuts for this and i'm stoked to see how they do it.

Was thinking the very same thing. That's not good. But it'll also tell the differences we're seeing in PS5/PS4 and especially Xbox One development that isn't going anywhere anytime soon and will also show the quality of effort EA are putting into their next gen games, if any, so we'll have a clear distinction.

I'm actually happy to see this be the last Star Wars exclusive game from EA. Don't get my wrong, I love exclusives because it shows the might of a developer when their attention isn't divided, but it's EA we know we don't get jack from half the time anyway and I don't know why people continue to go to them but, honestly, I think it's time for fans to take up a petition to send to the NFL and free up Madden. If MLB can take away The Show from Sony and force a Sony owned and funded development studio to make games for Xbox and Nintendo, then NFL can free up competition for NFL licensing allowing Visual Concepts to get back into the game as well as NHL. The move from EA to Ubisoft is a great move for Star Wars and we no longer have to read: "Star Wars Battlefront EA" We're not seeing "Star Wars Outlaws Ubisoft", come on ......

neutralgamer199251d ago

Bottom line is this:

If publishers are having to pay for development on Xbox series S than a last generation version is already made. It’s not the last generation that’s holding us back it’s the series S and MS parity clause. If that parity clause is not enforced many games would simply not release on series S or release via cloud only

What good is 12TF and 10TF next generation consoles if a 4TF console is holding everything back anyways. The only difference between a digital online and a disk drive console is just that

“Disk drive” all other specs should be 100% the same and IMO that digital only should also sell for the same price but include extra storage

Game has become so big and so profitable that our hobby is being run by suits who never played any games besides maybe candy crush and they only care about profits. The more money gaming makes the more suits will take over companies

Sciurus_vulgaris51d ago

A lot of multiplatform games that release on PC run on hardware with a greater hardware power disparity than the PS5/Series X and Series S.

hmm... maybe using the PS4/XBO version in back compat mode on PS5/SX will give it the performance boost it has been needing?

Tacoboto51d ago (Edited 51d ago )

Ah, the Elden Ring approach to optimization.
