GR: “The 2005 original Resident Evil 4 is a great game. Uncontroversial statement, I know, but it bears repeating now and then. It's fun to play, ratchets up the tension well, isn't mired in all the tedious franchise lore, and still has a clear sense of identity – both within the series and in gaming as a whole.
The RE4 Remake is… a little different. It's definitely a good time, no doubt about it, as we ourselves highlighted in our Resident Evil 4 Remake review, but to me it's also a more sedate and sensible affair than the original. To quote Leon from the remake.. Bull***t. It would have made no difference if they made it super camp as the OG or a little bit more serious the game will still be the same awesome and fun experience, the remake is still campy and fun btw and in perfect dose IMO, they nailed the balance.
"Moreover, it makes me wonder about how Capcom sees this franchise" hmm maybe not as a joke like you do?
SUCCESS is the reason and a great one !
Anyone who sees this game as anything other than pure camp needs to have their brain checked.
