In a recent survey, Koei Tecmo has shown interest in wanting to bring more games to Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra.

I can see more day one releases on Gamepass at the top of the Nioh games hitting Gamepass rather sooner than later, despite KT previous claims that those games wouldn´t not be released on Xbox.

They like it because they see people playing their games instead of seeing them unsold and unplayed by so-called supporters in the comments.
They see it as every gamepass users that plays the game will be a potential fan in the future.
40k sales in Japan. I would say that it probably sold 70k copies sale overall.

The completion stats stand against your statement. The vast majority played it for a couple of hours at best and moved on. That's not going to net a future sale.

Why do companies want to put games onto a non profitable service?
Advertising maybe but surely they'd make more money going a digital release or even a physical one?

These are older games that aren’t selling copies anymore . They aren’t talking day 1 games .
They don’t care if PS plus or game-pass is profitable or not they want checks for older games they aren’t making as much money on anymore .

There's always a chance that newer games will get a day-one game pass release too. Considering Wo Long did, KT might be open to doing future releases on GP if a deal can be struck. Gotta expect the unexpected

Maybe in Sony and Steam´s case. Wo Long was released day one on Gamepass while full priced on Playstation and Steam.

Non profitable? If they didn’t make a profit from it, they wouldn’t put the games on the service. This is the publisher’s decision, nobody is twisting their arms.

Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water & Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse.
Still wish they would of made physical releases for these games in the U.S. only option is import copies (For Nintendo Switch or PS4, sadly no Xbox physical release at all). Also remasters for Fatal Frame, Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly, and Fatal Frame III: The Tormented. I don't see these happening though with Nintendo's ties to Fatal Frame though.
