Agreed. I've played many English translation games and a lot aren't bad. But SS was terrible in how to add English to the ROM and some weren't complete or were badly translated. I love old school Neo Geo games and SNK. They were like the Capcom that wasn't Capcom.
It would be nice if the main companies ported them in their compilation releases of multiple games. Some games I never knew about or knew that they were good. And that's across the retro spectrum.
These days you can find one with the translation patch already applied.

Still, something to be said about an official re-issue or "low-grade" remake of an old game.
Realize at this point a simple direct port of a PS1 title, say Megaman Adventures, to PS5 can't be done because of licensing issues, but then it shouldn't be an issue.
